Flick’s doing an incredible job then. Possible treble, likely a double against a Madrid team that won both league & CL last year and added Mbappe.

Raphina’s gone from a likely sale to Balon dor candidate. Lewandowski obviously brilliant but he’s 36. Their starting CB pairing is a 17 year old and a 33 year old unfancied squad option. Araujo & Christiansen both out for most the season. De Jong on ridiculous wages and wildly overrated. Szczesny wouldn’t be anyone’s first choice keeper and Ter Stegen out for most the season. Olmo always injured. Imagine if he had money to spend/a competent board…

On the dark day that Pep decides he wants to leave, Flick would be my number 1 candidate. Plays very attacking football and the only other winner of a sextuple. If they win CL, he’ll match Pep’s record of multiple trebles at different clubs.

Know he's not the topic of this post, but as he's in the thumbnail for the video. I would absolutely love Kounde as our RB, has been top class pretty much every time I've watched him play.
 


I think Mbuemo is a brilliant option for us, he has creativity, great passing, great dribbling, and great decision making. I can see him fitting into our system easily and help our attack a lot. He's been having a great season this year(18G6A) and played very well against us.

Totally agree and been banging that drum once Alvarez left and throughout the autumn months. Unfortunately I think signing Marmoush has curtailed this avenue.

I think we'd kill him.
Well, Pep would with his obsession for control.
Yamal has that magic in his boots obviously but when you watch him, he's profligate in possession. For a team that struggles on the transition like we do (ATM) I think Yamal would drive Pep Cuckoo and vice versa.
Also, he'd be bigger than the club and that's a recipe for disaster.

He's only really suited to a Barca, RM or PSG before they sacked Poch.

Hopefully UTD buy him for absolutely stupid money and makes them worse instead. :)

He's far too marquee for City.

Imho anyway.

If Bernie stays, then with Kova, Rodri and Nico, he becomes unecessary as he is a deeper midfielder and cant play between the lines. So like you said, maybe in a year when others leave he makes more sense.

We know Kev is gone, so definitely one of MGW, Reijnders or Wirtz. Maybe 2 as you said if Gundogan has a furthet reduced role.

I really like Reijnders, the fee looks doable, and Wirtz feels unattainable, I could be wrong and maybe behind the scenes City are doing something special.

talent and price wise probably the best option for KdB replacement would be Cherki

i'm all in for this, his only downside is defensive contributions, bet everything else is top notch
 
Article on the athletic saying we plan on trimming the wage bill and finding cheaper players. Were certainly not acting like treble winning champions.

I wouldn’t pay much attention to that.

I don’t think anyone knows anything but even if they did.

Getting rid of dead wood Philips or older players KDB etc could easily account for this without necessarily diminishing the squad
