99% of the time I am against the death penalty. In cases such as these, it has to be an option.
My parents live in Southport. My dads fishing tackle shop is literally next door to where the murders happened. You cannot even begin to comprehend the devastation this has brought to that community. It has devastated and ended lives.

How do you think those girls families are thinking when they get up and read he has been allowed to hurt more people, just because we are a civilised society?
In cases such as this, where it is so evil, wicked and cruel, the death penalty should be an option. Let the parents decide whether he lives or dies.

Fair points but I fundamentally against the death penalty under any circumstances- so simply have to agree to disagree.

It's alright having fundamental beliefs when the impact of something has no implications to your life.
I guarantee you, your view would change if you had to hold your own dead 6 year old daughter in your arms, after she had been butchered and mutilated for absolutely no reason. Then listen to the man who did it say he was happy that your daughter was dead.
The animal that massacred young girls had fundamental beliefs as well as being sick in the head. Fundamental beliefs are what cause most of the turmoil on earth.
There is not any valid reason why this evil peice of shit should still be living. It makes a mockery out of all of us who wish to live a decent and civilised life.

Looks like the reason he is still alive is to coddle the feelings of people who haven't got the stomach to do the right thing, that's why most of them (Not all) wouldn't like an open vote on it.

As you said, it's a bit rich telling the family of victims of crimes like this that other people not connected think that the murderer deserves more justice than the victims.

Modern liberalism sorta/kinda stinks the place out.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with the death penalty as long as it's the right person being killed.

In this particular case, we know exactly who and where the right person is...

I'd be more than happy to travel to execute him for them personally this afternoon if our shithouse government had the guts to give the go-ahead. I would expect that a very large proportion of our society would do the same.

No, to permanently remove the offender from society.

The punishment should fit the crime. At the rate our society is changing for the worse, history will see the abolishment of the death penalty and increasingly over-lenient sentencing as a huge mistake.

Be careful what you wish for. The workd is a very different and worse place.

There's a possibility that the UK will witness beheadings in football stadiums in the next 20/30 years if wishy washy liberals don't stand up to the increasing threats to our way of life.
