Club World Cup - Summer 2025

Right, why the fuck do people keep on talking about this like it's a serious tournament?

I've not looked into it because I can't be arsed with these shitty additional/expanded tournaments they keep trotting out.

But both on this forum and in the wider online community, I keep seeing people mentioning how important it is to get certain transfer business done before the start of the club world cup.

Is there big money on the line? What am I missing?

Big money. Around £100m to win it I think. I won't be watching any of it as it's utterly meaningless and a waste of everyone's time.

Be interesting how serious the players take it after a hard injury hit season! Think 3 games is the least games you can play

I keep reading a lot of negativity about this tournament, but I for one think it’s a great idea and really looking forward to it.

It’s the same sort of schedule as a World Cup and the players don’t complain about taking part in that.

I always have problems supporting England at the World Cup due to the number of Utd, Liverpool etc players I just can’t stand. I’ve always thought why not have a World Cup with just a City team that I can fully get behind.

The money being put up to win it means all the clubs will be taking it very seriously.

With half the matches being shown on Channel 5, I’m sure the tournament will grow on the nation/media especially any football fan missing the game during the dire cricket season.

I wish I was going for the whole month, but being self employed means it will just be the one week of Juventus followed by, hopefully, the last 16 match. Can’t wait…

Well I’m all set for Philly now looking forward to going, fuck Trump but he did get me a better exchange rate! Anyone else going to the first game anywhere to meet up?

If Utd and LFC were in it the English media would be wetting themselves in excitement and it would be on BBC and ITV.

It’s strange how they can’t wait to show pre-season friendlies yet have no interest in this new competition.

What’s the odds Simon Stone is not there for it - yet will be in the Far East for Utd’s pre season warm ups.

Our game in Atlanta must not be selling as well as they’d like. All tier 3 prices have been slashed substantially. Needed to get a ticket for a mate, close to mine (paid $150), and those seats are now $50 ! via Ticketmaster.

In a word, short.

Lets hope the knock out games are reduced further.

For anyone who is still considering going, is concerned about the cost, but does have some frequent flyer points, either with Virgin, or with a credit card that can be transferred to Virgin.

I managed to get a mate MAN - ATL 20th June & Orlando - MAN 2nd July for 27,000 points and £253 quid ! Add in ticket for Atlanta & Orlando & Orlando/Miami for a total of £400 !

Shared accommodation in Orlando for 30 quid a night at Parc Corniche Condominium.

£750 quid all in + spends.

I realize not everyone has access to frequent flyer points, but just wanted to give anyone who does a heads up that there are some cheap flights out there.
