Are there actually people in this thread that still believe that this is not the systematic torture and genocide of the people of Palestine? 77 years of fighting, displacement, land seizure, the withdrawal of food, water, aid and medicine, yet people believe that the events of October 7th 2024 are the reason. SHAME on those politicians that are authorising and emboldening the perpetrators of these atrocities.

There's Hundreds of thousands of Children being starved to death. Deliberately. With probably around 100'000 that have already been slaughtered.
It's being watched by the world with no one prepared to help. Who'd of thought this in the year 2025.
I think that is what the OP is saying. Both sides are terrorists to each other! Which seems to be true. Both sides think they are fighting an existential war, and possibly that is true as well. Although, looking at the populations of both sides since 1940, Palestinians around 1 million. Jews around 500,000 and currently Palestine has 5.5 million and Israel has 10 million (not all Jews). They have both increased at least 5 fold which is a pretty remarkable feat considering most of us consider it a permanent war zone. To put that in context the UK had 40million in 1940 and now around 68million.
Apparently speaking out about this is bad.
Gorton thinks everyone should be quiet about the mass slaughter of children because both sides are bad.

The RTE news the other night, after a bombing of a hospital that killed 70 people, showed a mother and child. A baby really. But it was one of the most horrific things I’ve seen since the Ethiopian famine footage that motivated Bob Geldof et al. to do something about it.
The baby screaming, on its back on a trolley was just skin and bone.
I really found it hard to watch.
I never thought in the 21st century we’d be idly watching this stuff in the west and excusing the man made cause of it.

Who could have imagined 19 months ago that it would take more than a year and a half of Israel slaughtering and starving Gaza’s children for the first cracks to appear in what has been a rock-solid wall of support for Israel from western establishments.
Finally, something looks like it may be about to give.
The British establishment’s financial daily, the Financial Times, was first to break ranks last week to condemn "the West’s shameful silence" in the face of Israel’s murderous assault on the tiny enclave.
In an editorial – effectively the paper’s voice – the FT accused the United States and Europe of being increasingly "complicit" as Israel made Gaza “uninhabitable”, an allusion to genocide, and noted that the goal was to "drive Palestinians from their land", an allusion to ethnic cleansing.
Of course, both of these grave crimes by Israel have been evidently true not only since Hamas’ violent, single-day breakout from Gaza on 7 October 2023, but for decades.
So parlous is the state of the western reporting, from a media no less complicit than the governments berated by the FT, that we need to seize on any small signs of progress.

I totally disagree with what you have written. The OP quite clearly made a definition between terrorists and the Israeli state.
What I asked was what is Nelson Mandela ? For many many years we in Britain, and the rest of the world were told Mandela was a terrorist. Nelson Mandela ran the equivalent of Hamas. He was imprisoned for his actions.
He was, we were told, a terrorist.
Can someone tell.me the difference between the ANC and Hamas because I can't see any.
