Sorry but you are clearly drunk, high, or most likely both.
The longer he's on the pitch the less he does, in the pre match thread I said he'd be pulled after 60mins when someone actually remembers he's playing.....he didn't last that long, had fewer touches than anyone bar Haaland, he's pants.
If we had bought him off Sheff Utd, rather than being our player, people would have gone mad, he was not even average there.

Can you tell me what be brings to any side?

I see a player with no desire to make any game his, lack of passion, lack of courage, just the occasional ability to get into scoring positions, that's it for me.

For a local kid and a fan he shows nothing which I find strange.

That right there. Except its not occasional. Its a consistent ability to get into dangerous positions with ease.

Granted he hasnt taken full advantage of those opportunities. I think his lack of time means he is snatching at his opportunities.

Im sure he wont make it here. The fans clearly don't like him, and Pep doesn't trust him or play him enough for him to blossom. Fair enough.

It seems our fans want a superstar or nothing from him. He is a role player with a unique skill set that's rare

But unfortunately wont get the opportunity here it seems.

The fans don't hate him but they don't see the passion you would expect from a local kid, look at prime Foden and O'Reilly for examples of that.

I’m not sure that fans don’t like him. The popular scapegoat is clearly Rico.

But as for McAtee, the issue I think is that fans are desperate for this to be a one season blip, and for elite levels to be reached again next season. If that is going to happen, I am not sure James is that yet. He is technically excellent, but he lacks presence on the pitch. I don’t think gifted young players find it easy playing Pep’s way, and JM is another, like Palmer was.
He seems to get a bit lost in games for us. I suspect he will move on and excel elsewhere.

Palmer showed much more and didnt played that minutes McAtee gets atm.

you are right that he is regularly in the right places for chances, he has taken some but missed a few too, Villa springs to mind.

Unfortunately when you take those chances away, there appears to be nothing else, little chasing, creates nothing, plays safe passes backwards etc

He doesn’t deserve more minutes here. It can’t be just given on a plate because he came through the academy. He has to earn it and his performances haven’t justified him getting any serious game time. He’s a bang average footballer, who more often than not completely disappears in games. He will be sold and rightly so.
