Pep Guardiola - 2024/25

Not much different to his first season in charge and the current one. Both had with a mixture of aging players and lacking that extra spark. The following season after that first one we became Centurions.
It was pretty clear from about February on in that season that we were building something that were ready to explode in the next season.

When I watch us now I have no idea what Pep wants to focus on, or how he wants us to play. We go direct sometime, we play the slow shite more often and the results are mixed. But there doesn't seem like a bigger plan around on how we want to play.
We cross when Haaland is out and the midgets plays, we pass sidaways when Haaland is back. Today we start with two pacy strikers and two direct wingers and ask them to play slow methodical passing.

Not much difference between now and Pep's first.
No there's a massive bloody difference mate, again we were exciting to watch and it was clear we were going to have success, the boring slow shite we're playing now is not the same, and that was Pep's first season, next season will be his 10th, there is a big chance that Pep is burned out.

Won't be going anywhere and rightly so.

Been massively let down by the board with their signings and squad planning.

The fact he is talking to Wirtz and Reijnders tells you he will be here next season.
Pep is a the fore front of every fucking signing.
Txiki goes and gets them.

Not a spoon gets moved at the club without his say so but people on here act like Txiki just signed what he wanted and left Pep to pick up the pieces.

Ive been critical of him lately. If i’m honest though i was happy with the team he picked. The only danger was getting over run in midfield but that didn’t happen. It was a very attacking team and it was up to the players to score at least one and they should have done.

However, how on earth did he not think to put Nunes on for at least the last 20 with injury time? I know he’s not a big player for us but in a game like that it’s about stretching the pitch as much as possible (and he can cross). With Foden on who now frankly has one thing in his game. Which is cutting inside for a shot. Someone quick going outside him may have just helped create that chance. To persist with a centre back getting on the ball in forward areas and being clueless until the end was mind bending for me. Even if he’d have taken one of the other centre backs off to leave Akanji back for his pace. Absolutely bizarre

Yes but our football had become meh and the energy was low.
Not much different to now or in his first season where we had a keeper who stuggled to really adapt (although to be fair to Bravo he did help us with winning a couple of domestic cups)

Tactics outdated, possession just to have possession no threat just sideways passing. Peps a legend but this is painful. Also he now has a history of overthinking finals

Yes, because the board are standing on the sidelines and physically restraining him from making a fucking change every match before 85 minutes

Ultimate panic buy was Nico G.

The fact Pep knows his onions with DMs and was one himself, the fact Bernardo is playing over him tells you he doesn't rate him.

A Viana/ Txiki panic signing that was
Oh please, if Pep didn't green light it he wouldn't have come, and quite frankly Pep not rating someone doesn't mean as much as it used to because he's getting it wrong a lot more these days.

Wasn’t it Pep in the summer who decided he could get another year out of this squad?

I would keep him for another season but his tactics need a complete transformation. We’ve been so dull to watch this season.

He is not the best manager in football anymore. At best he is now just a decent manager.

Perhaps his clout might help us recruit some top talent. But i cant say his genius adds much to the table anymore. And sometimes, it takes away from the table.

Stay or leave our time as the absolute best English team is now on shaky ground.

It feels like late Wenger at Arsenal and late Mourinho at Chelsea.
