Our transfer business over the last two seasons has been unfathomably bad. You don't spend £50m on a central midfielder, a position that has fucked us this season, and then not play said £50m midfielder. Unless of course you think he isn't up to it; nothing else makes any sense.

Still shouldn't completely write this one off but if he has pissed off Pep then it is a long road back into contention or in Kalvin Phillips case no way back. He does have some ability and there is not a chance all our signings would bed in straight away after signing them mid-season.

Why is that only the case for this team and none other? Marmoush is playing too. Pep just has his favorites sadly . Every other club is playing their new signings especially in positions where they had an emergency transfer for. Favourites who have helped us with our trophy haul. Can't fault Khusanov's overall attitude had a few shaky moments during his time and he did score (although unfortunately) Brighton's equaliser.

Agreed. I think Pep has performed far worse than any of our players have this season. He’s been that bad. If we don’t see a new approach from him next season then conversations need to be had.

It's old hat now this isn't it? It made sense in the first couple of seasons when many players were used to the goalie kicking long, etc but now 80% of teams play a possession type game. Gonzalez was in the Barca academy. We've either bought a complete duffer or Pep just doesn't fancy him

I don’t think we’re in a Phillips or Nunes situation where Pep doesn’t trust him but it’s weird

Hopefully it’s jus Pep wanting to rely on the old guard for the end of this season and it will be a reset next season where the new guys come in

Lack of playtime and the consensus regarding the move for Reijnders being hes seen as the perfect player to have alongside Rodri is not a good look for Nico G. Like why the fuck have we again spent over 50mil for a midfielder for Pep to not want them? 170mil+ on duds in last 3 years. Pep should scout these jabronis himself because wtf.

Fair, but whatever is going on with Nico G and Pep is curious. I get that he's had similar issues to Rodri when he started (running too much, getting carded too often), but even then he's not had any look in at all.
