The Squad planning thread

How to try to sort our back line some ideas that goes trough my mind:

Back 3 with RCB Khusanov CCB Dias LCB Reis
gvardiol to fly up the line.
Frimpong wouldve been the right side but gone. Maybe Nunes to get more freedom or a new signing i cant mention now. Maybe Cambiasso.

Midfield our heartbeat:
Rodri if he gets it back is our Most important Player to make us look fluid.
Reijnders simply new face who works box to Box.
Beside them I‘m not sure if Foden is the Right man after this Season. We need someone who can find the spaces behind the back as we lack the trough pass and creativity. Kovacic was our best player to find the spaces in behind this Season. Another new signing maybe like Gibbs-White or Wirtz.

Weird shout but I think Bobb can do it too in the centrally half right. For pre season give it a try.

Offensive its for me the easiest:
Marmoush half left to cut inside and gvardiol overlap behind, Haaland just doing Haaland things, Bobb another good pre Season then go with him or new signing for me. Rodrygo maybe if available and serious interest to join us.
 
Forget th rebuild until after the Bournmouth game - everything rests on getting 3 pts - without that most of these transfer wishes are done....

We will have to go for plan c's and d's without CL football - forget the likes of Wirtz and maybe even Reijnders

Long way back without CL football....

I think Pep didn’t want signings in January, I think he wanted to go with what we had until the summer.
 
You wouldn’t really be surprised if they bought a player in any position would you.

Maybe bar striker
 
Gvardiol and Rodri are the only two I think we'd find difficult to replace.

Don't get me wrong, I want others to stay because of their potential, to see if they can regain form or because I think they're excellent squad players.

But if we were to play another final next week and someone told me I could pick any players from around the world, I don't think I'm naming any of ours. Used to be we'd have 5 or 6 I'd take over anybody.
 
If we don’t get champions league, we will have a different list to if we got champions league. I reckon that b list will be Gibbs White, Eze , the right back from Palace, Robinson etc

Yes, “New signings? What I want is my players back! I will love desperately to compete with the squad that we had at the beginning of the season” quote to Pep and that was back in December, right before the winter transfer window, also that was during that horrendous winless streak.
I think If Pep still think our current squad with everyone fit will be good enough for the next season, then he needs someone else to help him rebuild the squad. I hope Viana will be ruthless this summer and get rid of all the old players.
 
akanji has become our midfield equilivant of Bernardo - whenever fit he’s almost a shoe in to start by Pep.

He’s at the scene of far too many crimes since the treble season. Even when it’s not his fault he’s just always there.

Saudi came in for him last season so maybe they do the same this summer but it feels definitely time for him to go and Khusanov take his minutes. He looked like he was winding himself for a free kick every pass yesterday, was not touch tight on Eze.

We need to sell Akanji. Pep seems to have a blindspot to him for some reason but he's always got a mistake in him and when he plays right back he just gets in the way in games like yesterday. If I'm Nunes I would be absolutely furious that I've been dropped for a final for a guy that's just come back from injury and offers far less in attack. The return of him and Haaland has messed with the dynamic of the team at crucial point in the season.

We need to move on Akanji, Stones, Gundagon, Bernardo, KDB and Grealish. All big earners, but have either dropped off or injured alot.
 
This is all irrelevant with Pep at the top

Pace and power, that's never his MO and honestly think he's so stubborn he thinks this team is still elite but unlucky

He's sees a few missed chances and 80% possession and think we did great depsite how awful we are

Need a full revamp and aggression but also players who are direct AND quality

Everyone saying Frimpong cant defend yet Akanji was camped about 25 yards from the byline yesterday and could do NOTHING wouldn't even dare cross the ball....Frimpong would've done something

Pace, power and genuine star quality required....this is our reality, will it happen? Not to the level we want

And whoever we buy it doesn't matter, if Pep hasn't signed off on them they ain't playing

100% this, he’s not strong enough to play centre back and not good enough on the ball for a full back. He managed to keep playing with an injury while Ake, Dias and Stones were out so Pep feels some debt to him but he’s a liability defensively.

Yesterday Palace were happy to let him have the ball around their box knowing he couldn’t hurt them.

At the moment he takes up a spot in the squad we should be using for better players.

My concern is previously any player would have wanted to join us partly to play the brand of exciting football that swept all aside. N one wants to play as we are currently. We’ve bought poorly and that has to change quickly as well.
