One thing that irks me is the inaccuracy of the passing. I think back to that wonderful goal Bernardo scored at Villa a few seasons ago, or the Sané one at Arsenal. A handful of quick passes from our own penalty area and the ball was in the back of the net.
 
Recruitment has been appalling. No wonder Pep is struggling. Giving an elite coach players that West Ham were going for. Sign players that a Madrid or PSG would sign not the mediocre shit that we have been signing. You sign mediocre you become mediocre. None of the top clubs wanted Nunes, Doku, Phillips etc

Yep, that team with Sane and around the Centurion time is still my favourite. Enjoyed it more than the treble season with KDB and Silva pulling the strings. The naivety at the back cost us in Europe multiple times and seems to have made Pep overly safety-conscious. Unfortunately those defensive vulnerabilities have only partially been mitigated by controlling possession at all costs. This is done at the expense of that fast, free flowing and wonderful football we all loved.

We won't know until they get the chance. Based on what you said, which was something like 'in that case we will fail', here are three examples of newly appointed managers who have achieved great success with major clubs in their first appointments.

Iraola, as one example, came through the CFG and has proven himself very well with Bournemouth.
I have read that Gunodgan has done incredible work with the U16 team and impressed on the FIFA coaching courses. Regardless, I am sure that we already know who Pep's successor will be and we will have been scouting the market for several years.
 
Well I wouldnt get rid of him, its a p**** move to run away, im sorry but SAF did exactly that and that was the end for the noisy’s with a ageing Squad who needed a refreshment.

Of course it was sometimes weird constellation how he picked line ups and Chosen tactics but its still Pep and who else can sort this if not him.

I would really like to know how he influenced the transfer window in the winter, did he had his Word in it or was it more of a after pep invest.

Doku and Savio are mid table players at best and are incompatible with Haaland. United arguably have an equivalent if not slightly better midfielder than us, Foden took a season off, Jack cashed out after the treble. No fullbacks and a GK who wants to be in Saudi.

Only positive is the defence.

No coaching improves those players above, they are just either too old and finished or bang average.

Look im seething and see a hard rebuild.... but Doku and Savinho are clearly talented and are far better than "mid table at best", let's be real for a second they'd be stars at mid table clubs who actually play to their strengths which pretty much every team not us would do

Also again, United midfield isn't better or close to ours, it's inferior

Kovacic and Bernardo walk into their midfield before you even think of Rodri

KDB will be gone.
Who else, we don't know.
I relish the chance of young players stepping up to the mark but we also want to compete for the top honours in the game. A blend of youth and experience is probably where it's at. We don't need to throw that baby out with the bath water, but a few tweaks, the return of Rodri and Bobb, a fit Phil Foden, and a reset, mentally and physically, and I believe that we will be absolutely fine. We are now: this is sport, and success is not eternal.

The latter two are 22 and 20, and recognised as two of the most talented young wingers in the world game. Nunes is a decent squad player. I see one mistake, and there is not a club in the world that doesn't make them.

Ruben hitting a shot from outside the 18 yard box was the thing that struck me most about this video. Nobody seems to be allowed to do that any more, not even the midfielders. Be it through instruction or the fear of giving the ball away. Players were encouraged to have some accountability back then and had the freedom to express themselves. Far too regimented, slow and boring now.
 
Haven't we heard before that 'Pep has been found out'? A lot of the players who have carried us for 7 years+ are on their arse. Absolutely nothing this season from a lot of them. Recruitment has been pish
