Huge squad from January. Leaving players out of cup finals…

Playing Gundo/kev/kova/bernie because he don’t trust the rest is a clear issue that needs addressed in the summer.

The injuries is a freak season. Won’t happen this way again.

Players who don’t care and are happy to collect the wages while underperforming is where the blame lays.

I'm leaving nothing out, Palace (and Southampton even worse) barely ventured into, never mind through, our midfield, both defended well, the differences, against Palace we had a golden opportunity to score, the best you can have, and Southampton really didn't even try to score.

None of that is related to Rodri, who isn't available to any of it.
And when Palace 'ventured' into and through the midfield, what happened? It's precisely Rodri's unavailability and a lack of suitable options to replace him that began our sudden slide into mediocrity this season. Yes, tired legs and schoolboy defending and a pervasive inability to convert chances at the other end have all been major contributing factors, but to assert that Rodri's absence had nothing to do with this seems unlikely to me. Granted, Pep could have played Nico on Saturday to provide some heft and stability in central midfield, but he preferred to revert back to his famous strategy in the CL Final a few years ago against Chelsea.

he needs to go back to sick amount of pressing. I am happy for him to sell any players not happy to buy into that or not capable of that. Haaland has a lot to improve in that front but our pressing deteriorated so badly over the years its unreal.

we looked unfit all season, so this wasnt the year to do pressing, and older, over the hill players aint gonna press well, sadly likes of Doku, Foden, Savinho didnt show much of great consistent pressing either. also it needs to be organized and everyone to do it.

especially in CL you can see pressing is a must.

we try too much to accomodate certain weaknesses like loss of pace, loss of pressing ability etc.

I wouldn’t want another person to lead us through this period.

Genuinely disappointed to see so many turn on him due to a bad season. Yes it’s been crap and boring but what about all the seasons we ripped it up? He is more than due a rocky season or 2 ffs.

A victim of his own success.

So many players have not turned up this season. I would move any of them on instead of pep, any.

Let’s all buckle under the pressure instead. As if pep can’t see how shite we are. He is dealing with a huge squad of players who are nothing more than average at best.

No wonder he is sick of them. It’s a game of football not rocket science. The majority need to do a lot better or be shown the door. I would just get rid now.

Rip the plaster off and go again.

We don’t score goals and it’s on the players. We concede stupid goals and it’s on the players. We create fuck all and it’s on the players. The recruitment is on the club. Both those major issues is why we look and play like shit.
If they're all so crap who the fucks responsible for that. Txiki for buying them or Pep for not improving them.

Personally think we've got a much better squad than the clubs we're battling a CL place for.

Time moves on.

Lot of reasons which have been discussed to death.

We have a poor squad, sorry you won’t or can’t see that. The squad got dumped out of the league, champions league and fa cup.

I would only keep a handful but that’s not realistic so slowly but surely we need to keep shifting as many as possible over the next couple of windows.

Not acknowledging our demise is why the rags still think they are a relevant club.

No one is to blame. Shit happens, we move on and a lot of players who have won everything with us must now go. The hunger and desire to stay top and keep winning has left a few. Injuries have done a number on us and above all else loyalty to players that now on reflection did not deserve it. Mistakes will be made, that can’t be helped but we have to start to make some hard logical decisions.

5 bare minimum to leave.

What about Chelsea and Villa. McGinn is a very good player and he doesn't start for them. They have Morgan Rogers, Leon Bailey, Jacob Ramsey, Tielemans etc

We have KDB but what level is he at now? Likewise Foden. Rodri is injured.

Honest question, how many games have actually been enjoyable this season and you have come away buzzing or optimistic, can’t really think of many or indeed any. The fall off has been spectacular and Pep needs to share the blame along with his Spanish mates.

Viana is going to have a very tough job..

Players that need to be moved on or Pep will play them over everyone new:

Akanji
Stones
Gundo
Kovacic
Bernardo

We have to create a scenario where the new guys can gel in.. not be treated like Nico/ Khusanov where they can't even get a game because Pep trusts the old guys.

If those 5 stay.. they'll all play 3000+ minutes next season.. Pep just can't help himself!

I would keep 1 of kovacic/ Bernardo

Buzzing probably none

Optimistic - Chelsea in the first game as we swatted them aside easily

Enjoyable performances Newcastle and Chelsea at home

We do, but we're also trying to play a style where everyone has to be amazing. The thing about Pep's style is that it relies on having world class players on top of their game. Not everyone has to be world class, but when you get too many who aren't, it makes you incredibly vulnerable. So we see loads of games where Pep has set the team up to completely dominate possession, and we do, but we don't have the talent to break down a packed defence, and we don't have the defensive talent to deal with quick breaks. How many times do we lose to the opponents only shot on target? The same as Pep's first season.

In a sense it's both of their faults. Pep hasn't adapted his style of play to the players he's got well enough, and Txiki hasn't bought adequate replacements for aging players. Rodri is still essential and we knew that last season. You could forgive them for assuming that Foden would step into De Bruyne's shoes after the season he had last year. You could forgive them for assuming Doku would push on after an encouraging start and Haaland would continue to bang goals in. But the signs were there with Walker a long time ago and no-one was brought in. Stones and Ake have been injury liabilities for years. But equally, it's important to recognise how incredibly difficult it is to get this stuff right all the time. There's a reason why Pep is the only manager to win four in a row in the history of English football.

For me though, I see this weird with recruitment where we keep being told that, yeah I know this player doesn't seem that impressive and hasn't stood out in general, but this stat or that stat makes them perfect for us. Like Doku and Savinho's 'most successful dribbles' or Nunes having great ball carrying stats, and then as suspected, the rest of their game is pretty underwhelming. He's the 'right profile' is something I keep hearing. It just all seems to have gone a bit moneyball. Whereas Gvardiol, the most successful recent signing, was just recognised as one of the best young defenders in the world, we bought him, and he turned out great. Sometimes you just need to buy the best players in the position rather than trying to Tetris a bunch of decent players with complementary games.

Don't be so American :)

Lighten up. Have a laugh. Self-deprecate. Take some Mancunian lessons. Or don't. Who the fuck cares?
I apologize to the entire world for the Presidency of Agent Orange. I voted against him three times. As for the rest, I'm not interested in your continuing passive-aggressive prattle. Have a lovely day, mate. ;-)

Calling Pep our greatest manager doesn't do justice to his stature in the game.

He's up there with the greatest managers in history.

I won't be surprised if he goes down as the greatest ever, as unlike, say, Ferguson he has not only won many trophies but has changed football. Pep's a unique combination of a winner like Ferguson and a tactical genius like Michels.

Only time can tell whether he can build another great City team but it's daft to write him off.
He is the greatest manager ever. Of that i have ZERO doubts.

Still think he sucked this season though.
