Florian Wirtz

I'm sure our fans were firmly convinced that Foden was the superior player/talent a year ago?

Yeah and maybe he will step up but we are still losing KDB and most likely Bernardo so we need world class players don’t we? I’m not sure relying on what we have in the squad will be the answer if we want to win titles.

Liverpool could sign him if they wanted. They make a lot of money, spent nothing last summer and have plenty of room for PSR.

Someone said on here earlier that it could be a case of City knowing he is going to Liverpool and City have come out with the too expensive PR to put the money issue on Liverpool.

Bayern aint paying more than £100m
Forgetting UEFA squad cost ratios could be a factor for scousers and maybe us

The UEFA Squad Cost Ratio is a rule designed to limit the percentage of a club's revenue that can be spent on player wages, transfer fees, and agent fees. For the 2024/25 season, the limit was 90%, and for the 2025/26 season and beyond, it will be 70%. Clubs exceeding this limit face financial penalties and potentially other disciplinary measures

If you were a top player, and watched that shit on Saturday, you’d hardly be chomping at the bit to come here.

Poor recruitment has caught up with us big time this season and it will become harder to attract the best.

The PR spin put out about Wirtz today and Guardiola’s nonsense about the Charity Shield are concerning.
If your are a top player you'd watch the seasons under Pep and his previous at Bayern and Barca and say I want some of that

Exactly, everyone in the world except dipper fans and weirdly a percentage of our fanbase think he is the best manager in the world and possibly of all time. He is certainly the most famous and there isnt a player in the world who doesnt want to work with him(ok there might be a few but you get the point)

Latest update to the rules.

Dippers are definitely in the mix horrible cunts!

If them wankers get him and a full back they will probably go on to dominate for a few years unfortunately, their owners have sat and watched how we've done business previously and will probably realise strengthing with world class talent whilst on top is the way to maintain it.

Shame he’s a great player but we have great players and great talents here.

Marmoush and Foden need to play. We have Bobb who will start getting minutes, Savio and Doku to develop more and Echeverri.

I did think Echeverri would be loaned out but seeing him thrown in at the deep end in the final and impressing in limited minutes is promising. I’m sure he’ll get a run out at the CWC.

Also look like we are signing MGW who is an 8-10. I accept the argument that he’s not the 10 we need but probably won’t play 10 much if Foden gets back to form. He can play 8 and would be a welcome addition to that midfield with an engine we currently are missing.

Ok MGW will be expensive but clearly not as expensive all in as Wirtz which means we have more to spend actually improving the whole squad with full backs a must.

Maybe it means we are going to struggle getting players of the books more than we thought. We have already heard on here that Grealish to Newcastle now isn’t happening. Gundo and Bernie to stay was going around yesterday as well.

But thats fine even if disappointing? This pulling out and blaming the numbers just looks even more small time imo? We went for him and he picked someone else so we move on.

Agree. It’s the ‘we can’t afford it’ attitude that fucks me off most. As long as he doesn’t go to Liverpool I’m fine with us bidding and him choosing Bayern or Real.

But saying it’s too expensive is a bad look and sends a message to other top players and their agents that we can’t sign the best.

To me that says don't take the piss with your demands.

I don’t think they need to watch us to know that.

The chances of him going Liverpool are probably slim for me.

Last week was just a show to help his current club. I never believed he was coming here, if you are the next big thing in Germany and Munich want him, generally they get him. Rumours were they had a look around the club and met the execs but allegedly Pep was not there and was in Barca. That made me suspicious. Surely Pep would of wanted to be there to sell his project.

Anyway lets move on. I would personally try Eze - think he would thrive under Pep
