Pep needs to trust the younger players. And he’s had a big opportunity this season with the team not doing well.

But he has failed to throw some of these younger players in to see how they get on.

And I think that’s the route we should have gone for the last 3 months. Just play the players who have a future here, it would of done them the world of good.

It is probably down to Pep's way of bedding players in and loyalty to players who have really served us. Hopefully we will get to see more of Nico next season. Same with Khusanov.

I'm not sure many 23 year olds want to be a backup-6 or even a 6.

Being an 8 or a 10 further up the field is the dream. As a manager you can't miss that players drive.

I'm still hoping to see a triple midfield partnership, with:

Rodri, Reijnders and Nico being a very physically strong midfield with good shooting technique around the box, and some creativity.

And with MGW, Kova, Bernie and Lewis as the backups in that order.

But that's the 3 (and + MGW) that is for the future.

I agree Kova likely better now, but he is also 31, so I'd like Nico to be molded into the starter and getting rest from an older player.
