This season stinks of Pellegrini's final season with us. The tactics used have been very similar.

We did better in Pellegrini's last season than we have this season. At least we won a trophy.

Bear in mind also that Manuel Pellegrini was told he was being replaced by Pep at least halfway through the season. To be honest, I thought he did well in the circumstances.

What's Pep’s excuse?

We get it you want him out.

Well, a shit ton of injuries from September to January certainly didn't help.

We lost the balon dor winner, the player of the year went a bit shit, John stones was out injured, KDBs legs went, Kyle walkers head and legs went.....there's FIVE players that any team would miss

It's what a squad is for. Stones absence was predictable. KDB and Walker had been on their last legs for at least 12 months. Phil Foden was burned out after last season.
More than capable back-ups were available for all of them apart from Rodri.

It's a squad game, you don't cry when a few get injured, you pull your socks up and get on with it.

He is not going anywhere even if we failed Champions League qualifications next week.

There so many instances in this season that the club or Pep himself part away yet it did happen.

He will get out at his own term next season when his contracts end.

In Peps defence, now our injuries are clearing up we seem to have a very big squad all of a sudden
Hard to keep everyone happy with who’s starting and making the bench.

It was more than a few. Players were having to take it in turns to play while injured, aggravating injuries further.

Anyway. You have your own ideas about Pep now and you're free to them, but you asked for excuses for him for this season - injuries would be it. Any team losing the key players we did would struggle.

Whether we should have let it get to this point is a related but different matter.

Oh, and whoever finally replaces Pep would equally have struggled given the injuries we had. Possibly even coped worse.

Fair comment, but it was Pep and Txiki who let it get to this point, so it's not really a different matter. The squad is down to him.

Yeah but when your squad comprises 8 top players who are all out at the same time, it affects everything.

You have a very simplistic view of how to manage a team in the most competitive league in the world

We’re all entitled to our opinions & I have to say I totally disagree with yours because you have covered up the problems Pep faced

I think it's past time for a change and rebuild for life without Pep.

I honestly think he'd have happily walked away after the CL win if the City Group board had identified a replacement. I think the last two years have had a negative effect on his life and health.

The biggest problem this season has been Pep hanging on to a tired and boring system using a mixture of tired, old, and bored players in his squad. That was all down to Pep and Txiki's failure to plan effectively for succession, resulting in underwhelming transfer windows. Complacency.
