Decent from Crawley but gonna reserve my greater thoughts till we see how he gets on against India. Have to say I’ve never been wholeheartedly convinced about him.

Not watched any of this test match it's a waste of time we are always going to spank them! West indies series be more interesting

Lancs vs Zimbabwe would be competitive.

Ben Curran who's in the lineup for Zimbabwe wasn't good enough for Northamptonshire.. who are the only team below Lancashire in the table.

So definitely at that sort of level.

Takes me back to when Ireland used to play in (I think) the 50 over cup in England against the other counties. Makes you wonder if Zimbabwe should do something similar to build their skills.

I imagine it must have happened before in the 1000+ test matches that have been played. But it's still some effort for the top 3, of any nation, to score centuries on the opening day of a test match.

Yes, I know; "Lads, it's Zimbabwe".

The actual record is the first 4 Batsmen getting tons in an innings and it's been done twice.

India did it in 2007 vs Bangladesh and Sri Lanka did it vs Ireland in 2023

EFDIT. There's been more than 2500 test matches played since the first test match in 1877 when Australia played England

The record for the most centuries scored by a team on the first day of a Test match is **four**, achieved by England against Pakistan at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on December 1, 2022. The centurions were Zak Crawley (122 off 111 balls), Ollie Pope (108 off 104 balls), Ben Duckett (107 off 110 balls), and Harry Brook (101 not out off 81 balls). England scored 506/4 in 75 overs, also setting the record for the most runs on the opening day of a Test match.[](https://www.guinnessworldrecords.com/world-records/735889-most-runs-scored-by-a-team-on-the-first-day-of-a-test-match)

Watching Lancs, put into bat 21/0.

No Jimmy though FFS.
I don't have any confidence in Lancs to take 20 wickets unfortunately, especially not without Jimmy.

I sometimes go and watch Leicestershire with me moving here a few years back, and they look a really good side this year. Will be a tough game for Lancs this will.

Just in the door, and seen the Zimbabwean response. Fair play to them; I thought they might have been demoralised after spending all yesterday watching the ball being dispatched to all corners of Trent Bridge. I wouldn't have been surprised to see them getting knocked over for around 150-ish. It's an okay reply, given the strength of the Zimbabwean team. If I had tickets for sunday, I'd be worried, mind!
