RB Salzburg now play in this and then go through Champions League qualifiers.
Maybe unlikely they get to the final but the final is 13th July, and they start qualifying on 22nd July.
I'm sure they'll change the entry rules for 2029 edition. Suspect they weren't expecting the Austrian runner up to be there at the expense of the likes of Barca and Liverpool.

We have to play in it. There's no rule saying we have to try. The way I see it, we'd be playing in some bullshit tournament in America anyway. Might as well get 100 million for it.What a joke this tournament is and is becoming.

Frankly I don’t give a damn about this Mickey Mouse tournament. Obviously some financial incentive, but many of our players need a rest, and it complicates selling and recruitment.
