Khaldoon's End of Season Review 2025

You're relatively new to this football supporting malarkey, aren't you?

Winning trophies every year isn't normal. It's exceptional.

Just saying.

Yeah pal - had a season ticket since 1977. Watched us for 34 years before I saw us win something tangible so I'll trust my opinion over yours. We've been in self managed decline for the past 2 seasons - if you can't see that, I suggest you have another look.

We're still fighting for third through fifth when we could've had third locked up weeks ago. Most individual player levels have dropped or been completely neutralized due to injury and Pep has also admitted to making mistakes this season. So it's not quite hyperbole when it's straight from the horse's mouth.
Not sure you can use the term falling of a cliff and mismanagement and then go on to justify the lower levels reached due to injury and individuals dropping

not watched one since the 3rd, unless addressing serious fans concerns like ticketing, pricing, touting sites and transport then 40 minutes or blowing smoke up Pep and Kevs arse (as fuck all else to talk about football wise this season) doesn't interest me
Same, I thought he was a genuine good guy on the side of the fans in some way, silly me.

Looking forward to it even if it has become PR. No other club does it every season as far as I know.

If people don't think it's interesting to see what he says and how he says it, then they don't understand what his role is.

Tbf, I rarely get to the end these days but that doesn't mean I can't judge in the first 15 minutes or so what the message from Mansour is. I used to write bullshit like this - the questions and the answers.

This time, though, I may hang around a little longer to see what he says about the club's engagement with fans. It's important to me, as a fan who is rapidly giving up on the game, to hear that Mansour understands and is addressing the issues. It may determine how long it is until I give up on the game completely.

It will be next season this year won't it?

He will tell us as he is similar to JG in an "important" way. They both hate losing. They will use their anger as an energy to rise next year from this rotten season. Your time has come your second skin, cost so high the gain so low, walk through the valley, the written word is a lie.

Oh and Disneyland Abu Dhabi will have an MCFC themed ride based on the history of MCFC.
The roller coaster ride will be the stratosphere the last few years with a steep dive to the finish this year.

It’ll be far from explosive.

It’ll be the usual stuff of him not really saying anything with an undertone of disappointment here and there but sprinkled with praise of wider context and recent success.

Which is fine.

I am not sure what self-managed decline means.

It is evident that we have declined but that stems from the ageing of de Bruyne and the injury to Rodri. Rodri may make a full recovery and we will strengthen our midfield next season either through the return to form of Foden, or the development of Echverri, or through the transfer market.

The last third of the season shows that City are still a force to be reckoned with.

Tell that to the elite clubs we want to emulate and be alongside. The thing is, we were briefly. Or was the project mission statement, get really good, get to the pinnacle, then take your eye off the ball?

Like the poster you responded to, been watching us for decades and can put a context on differing situations and times.

The tedious "spoilt" innuendos are wearing thin and are unanalytical. Also, invariably, aimed at the wrong people

Briefly? Over 10 years of absolute success and domination. 16 years of Champions League qualification, including numerous latter stage finishes and winning the thing. Hardly brief, and not even over yet

True - give you that one. It was a long climb to the summit.
But that Treble side was in everyone's heads, including the Madrids, Bayerns etc. and being lauded as the best ever.
The demise, and I'm not just talking trophies - attitude, system, performances, recruitment have been well short recently - has been v concerning and quick.

I'll reserve judgement until next season. If we get back on it, then it was a blip, if we don't then I'll be concerned

'Interesting'? It will be as dull as dish water! "well chairman" (I always think of Brian Clarke interviewing Swales back in the day when I hear a reporter calling Khaldoon 'chairman') and on it will go. Platitudes here, scripted questions for well-rehearsed answers there. Yes isn't this great, isn't that wonderful... and the new stand... let's not forget the woman, and the new under-sperm academy... (only joking... it's for toddlers aged 2-4yrs!!) wow! It's the same thing every year. I'm not suggesting btw, that we don't have some really good people running the club, we do, but I still find the post-season interview slightly cringy, like blowing smoke up Khaldoon and SM's backside instead of asking him some un-rehearsed questions, respectfully, and expecting some straight-forward answers in return??

Just tell us what you really think about this season on and off the pitch. No PR. No Spin. No guff. No bullshit. Just the truth. You can't fool the fans.

I don't expect there'll be a question like "Mr Chairman, it's been obvious there's significant fan unrest about engagement, ticket pricing and the club's seemingly laissez-faire attitude to who they sell tickets to. How do plan to address these issues?"

Don't know what some people want. He's chairman of a multi-billion pound business, he isn't going to talk on camera like he's a fan sat in Mary D's after we lost in the derby ranting with his mates.

It'll be the standard, express disappointment at the trophyless season, praise the previous years success to deflect, vow to come back hungrier than ever to reclaim our titles. Reflect on kdb's legacy. praise the academy players coming through to the first team. Mention the continued academy success, briefly skirt around how they have listened to fans with regards to ticketing and that's about it.

Does he need a script writer?
