PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

All I know is that I have been involved in numerous similar arbitration type hearings (not exactly the same) and I was surprised at the high volume of informal conversations between the independent Judges and both parties before the statements were published. There were backdoor channels relating to the timing of public statements and all three groups spoke to each other. The cases I was involved in were high profile and very media and politically sensitive.

Fair enough, you have more experience of these things than I do.

One issue is that if we lose Khaldoon will essentially have been implicated in a fraud scandal. He does billions of pounds of unrelated business with the Government in his other role with the AD Sovereign Wealth Fund. So the Government will have to be kept in the loop for starters. The whole case is hugely politically sensitive.

Well possibly, but personally I have no doubt the PL won't be able to prove the most serious allegations which are effectively of systemic fraud, so I can't imagine that will be an issue.

I have to remain consistent :) It's an accounting thing .....

If the panel finds we have been the main culprit in a multi year fraud scandal, then surely City can insist this goes to the high court? The seriousness of that finding would have such ramifications I can’t believe the club would have any other choice.

Have you been through the thread with your green pen, or is that just a financial auditor thing?

fucking panel need to wake up. if they need more time ask for help lol. get another 5 lawyers on the payroll of PL to help write up the decision.

Certain premier teams and certainly the media would be happy for this to drag out for the next 5 years! It generates them so many clicks

I imagine it affects our transfer business as well. I can't think of any other reason why Wirtz would choose the dippers over us

We pulled out.
Too expensive.
We can get 3 for the price of 1.
or did we see the writing on the wall and pulled out to save face? I certainly would have done what we have done rather than suffer the embarrassment of a player choosing that cult over us. I do think that as long as these charges hang over us ,the more difficult it is to attract the top talent

£125m + Contract wages
Good player but only equivalent to a number of others who will cost less.
