It’s a massive stretch but there is an offence of criminal damage being reckless as to endanger life, which carries a maximum sentence of life imprisonment.
Could it be argued that banging a car like that, in that scenario, could seriously risk a reaction founded in panic on behalf of the driver when there are hundreds of people at risk from an adverse response.
The driver’s reaction is certainly not an inconceivable outcome, but whether it amounts to recklessness, rather than mere carelessness, is unlikely.
