It's Quiet the £250m return

He has been considerably better than average, proced vital to saving our season and is improving substantially every game.

He's the second fastest player in the league, he's tall and physical, he has the technical proficiency given hes naturally a midfielder, he has a criminally underrated cross. Shows willingness to run beyond the line off the ball.

What attributes does he lack? Take away the name and his history and look at the player without bias and he's a near perfect fit for what Pep wants in a fullback.
I like him and agree with most of your points and would like him to be in squad next season for his versatility. What perplexes me about him is that he gradually got better at the defensive side of his job over the course of the season, but his mistakes have been more midfielder side, which he should have been good at in the first place.

pep just has to tell him to not pass backwards and we'll be fine lol

We’re getting £25m for Perrone plus fees for Couto and Wright and likely to get fees for McAtee, Ederson if he leaves, Ortega, Bernardo if he leaves, maybe a small fee for Phillips. There was interest in Kovacic last year from Saudi maybe a reasonable fee there. Forest are apparently interested in Nunes. If asked leaves I’d expect a small fee there too.

I suppose the likes of Gundogan, Stones, Walker go on loan or on frees. Plus at least £8m in sell ons and add ons. May get more from Trafford going to Newcastle.

So there’s definitely scope to recoup a fair bit in sales.

Delap too ?

Very much not true, there isn’t a club in the world a player can sign for knowing who his manager will be 3 seasons from now. Having the confidence Pep is here for two more years is as secure as any player can be.
It's very much true in that Pep was a huge draw in the past, but with the length of time he's been at the club and the increasing number of quotes about how he'll call it time after he leaves us, then players aren't going to be as sure he'll be around for the long term.

On the other side of things you're right in the sense that players never know who the manager will be long term at any club either. Pep isn't the only draw for us but he's one of the biggest

Those mistakes are the reason he's not playing in midfield

So after pep initial contract how long do you reckon was his other contract renewals?
As Pep himself said, he’s closer to the end than the beginning! If you don’t believe he’s going in 2 yrs, there’s nothing I can say other than I take him at his word.

If I was a top, top European player, the main draw at City would be Pep. If I was 22-25, and expecting a 5-6 year deal, I’d be looking at how long I was going to be part of a rebuild and how long I was going to be part of a Pep-less City.

I would weigh my options, based on that calculus, very, very carefully, especially if other top clubs were seriously looking at me.

Livramento was class before Newcastle, that's when we need to be signing these English talents
He still needed a move to take the next step. Southampton to Newcastle has definitely helped his development. I always kept an eye on the team sheet to see if he got games, being based near Southampton I wanted to see how he developed. It was a slow start at Newcastle.

He was only at saints 2 years and missed a whole year from that acl injury. I don’t think we would have risked that.

Now makes sense and yes it will be a big fee but like when we signed Walker it could easily pay off. He’s young, prem proven, can only get better, homegrown and can cover both sides.

If true they would take Jack as part of the deal it’s a no brainer.

That is incredibly disrespectful of the club and the infrastructure that it has put in place, may i remind you that the club won leagues and trophies before pep was here with mancini and pellegrini and since then has become a powerhouse in world football and has amongst the best infrastructure and facilities in world football, to suggest that the whole thing is going to fall apart once pep leaves completely ignores the fantastic people around the club who have made it what it is.

I like him and his cameo v salford was great, but he’s raw as fuck, a bit like Kelechi
Buy back should protect us
He won’t be great, buy back will expire/not be taken up, hell then explode into life, Chelsea will sign him and him and Delap will get 50 goals a season between them, with Palmer getting 20+ assists and Lavia being the best ranked DM!!

Plus Rodrygo apparently
Still unsure on this one.

We would definitely need to sell a player we weren’t expecting to to facilitate it in my opinion.

Cherki makes sense. Can play as 10 or wide so helps rotate with Phil and McAtee and Bernie are probably off.

Marmoush, Doku, Savio, Bobb aren’t going anywhere.

Ut by the same token how long would their managers be in place? Pep must be the longest serving PL manager in recent history, Madrid change their managers with the dishwater, same with Barca, I’d be looking who’s in the squad and the longevity of it, Haaland has signed a 10 year deal, we have Rodri who’s more than likely going to extend plus the youngsters we have. Looking at how our club is run it’s probably the most stable top tier club at the moment that to me woukd be a bigger selling point, unless of course it’s all about the cash.

So players are turning down a club where Pep may only be at for a couple of years to join another club where Pep isn't now and likely will never be. What a brilliant idea.
I can only assume you think Pep is the be all and end all of football coaching. I believe others might have a slightly different view, especially given the football they saw coming from us this past season.

If I was a gung ho attacking midfielder, who had my choice of clubs, I might not feel like Manchester and City and Pep were the things that both best suited me and best suited my desire to play a certain brand of football.

There is a reason we are not always #1 on every players list of teams they want to play for!

I recon Savio could go out on loan, preferably to a premier league club. Could be a diamond but doesn’t seem ready for our level at the moment imo
