It's Quiet the £250m return

As Pep himself said, he’s closer to the end than the beginning! If you don’t believe he’s going in 2 yrs, there’s nothing I can say other than I take him at his word.

If I was a top, top European player, the main draw at City would be Pep. If I was 22-25, and expecting a 5-6 year deal, I’d be looking at how long I was going to be part of a rebuild and how long I was going to be part of a Pep-less City.

I would weigh my options, based on that calculus, very, very carefully, especially if other top clubs were seriously looking at me.

Didn't he say that before he signed up for another 2 years? No one knows he could sign up for another 2 years after this one. This players won't sign because pep be gone is 2 years isn't true or players won't sign for any club especially the two big Spanish clubs

I can only assume you think Pep is the be all and end all of football coaching. I believe others might have a slightly different view, especially given the football they saw coming from us this past season.

If I was a gung ho attacking midfielder, who had my choice of clubs, I might not feel like Manchester and City and Pep were the things that both best suited me and best suited my desire to play a certain brand of football.

There is a reason we are not always #1 on every players list of teams they want to play for!

I would say Rodrygo is better Marv, can also play as a 10 as well.
Is he though

Vey questionable work rate and personality on the pitch...ok when things are going his way but not so when backs are against the wall from what Ive seen

Say what you want about Doku but the lad is a fighter and never ever gives up...no matter what - always trying to make things happen

Attributes?
He can’t pass. Has almost zero awareness and absolutely cannot defend.
I do agree that he is athletic and has a decent cross.
As I said though, would he be good enough for our rivals? I don’t think so..
Were you at the Etihad for the Villa game? He scored in that game from a fantastic pass from Doku.

If you were at the Bournemouth home game you would have seen some good defending from Nunes who showed good recovery pace. At the death Nunes made a mistake with a back pass that led to a goal. That was another lapse in concentration but overall I think his game has improved a lot.

It looks like he was very short on self-belief but that's changing.

How long do any other managers stay in their jobs? There's never certainty over the manager. To get two years, at least from Pep, is better than most other clubs who chop and change more often.

If you look at attacking players that have worked under Pep the majority have had their best seasons with him in charge. People seem to be basing their opinions on one season where we suffered a lot of injuries, rather than across his whole career. When we won the treble we were incredible for the majority of the campaign. 4-0 against Madrid. 3-0 against Bayern. Then, to get the job done we were more pragmatic, but we won the lot.

Foden's output last season was brilliant. Sterling under Pep was a much better player. Coman at Bayern was much better under Pep. Grealish is probably the only one who didn't produce the output expected, but he was still an important cog in our system under Pep in the treble season.

Nunes - He's improving at least, if I could upgrade on him I would be doubt we go for 2 RBs, hopefully gets bumped to understudy this window.

Doku - weird one for me, dont rate him as a crosser at all which is what we really need with the setup as is. If we are keeping the wingers as wide as they are, Savio has a much better cross from that side. If they are cutting in/roaming, id' have Omar out there with a new LB on the overlap. Think he stays, cant see him being upgraded on, so gets till next summer. Would love a right footed, right winger in the mix with a WC cross. so many left footers.

If nunes is still playing rb and docu is still dropping his shoulder then passing backwards next season then we’ll fall further. Both need replacing.

Don't think we'll play with a genuine #10 next season. Can see it being the PSG model of a 6 and two 8s (Rodri, Gonzalez, Reijnders, possibly MGW/Kova/Gundo/Bernardo) with a fluid front three, the wide men in the front three can be inside forwards or genuine wingers.

That was my guess at the lineup, Cherki is a nice curveball though.

I think Khaldoon is furious with the season, From his comments I believe a lot more players will be on the chopping block this summer, Than we think.

He has his standards and we didn’t hit those standards this season.
It's fair to say he, and Sheikk Mansour, are two of the hated "overseas plastic fans" who want our long serving shipped players out, as I saw one poster mention earlier. :)
