In some sports women commentators are better than the men, particularly cricket when they actually talk about the game with knowledge and insight instead of where they ate last night or how many buses are passing the ground. Ebony Rainford-Brent is particularly good. So it’s simply the choice of pundits on the football channels that’s the issue, not their race or gender
Caroline Barker Sky's EFL anchor.

Barnet fan and knows more about the game than the pundits she has on with her.

I've called time?

Melissa Ready - Instagram

ELEVENTH!!! season of Premier League coverage done and I’ve called time on three years at Sky

I’ll still be doing bits and bobs for them but I’m genuinely soooo excited to share all the things I’ll be working on soon, which will allow me to focus on my strengths and passions

For those that have BEEN asking for the past five years () YES - that will include new books

After the first press conference I covered in England all those years back, a journalist turned to the press officer and said “why are you letting them come over here and take our jobs. You just want a little lick don’t you?!”

I would love to be able to say that things have changed in that regard, but alas… the abuse as a foreign woman of colour in this sphere never ceases. I will always be stronger than the hate; I know who I am, I know the substance of my work.

You can’t dim the light of someone who learned how to shine in the dark ✨✨✨

The messages I’ve received from managers, players, club staff, my Sky and wider industry colleagues - people who know me, my journey and sacrifices over the past decade - carry more weight than any of the nasty noise.

Let’s cook ‍
I'm gutted she's gone
NOT!!

On the cricket theme I’m always impressed by Isa Guha too, though the less said about Alex Hartley the better.

I’m also gonna go on record as saying one of the loves of TMS growing up, esp for overseas tests, was the colour the commentary team added which painted wonderful pictures in my mind. So yep, I like to hear about the buses passing the ground ;-)

Not sure if the link works, but it's danny kelly going on about the evils of state ownership winning 2 of the last 3 champions league.
Horrible fat bitter fuck.

Since the PSG win there has been a lot of state owned clubs, Newcastle, PSG and Manchester City mentioned in the news.

Fcuk em…

remember during one of the world cups or euros when Skinner & Baddiel were doing their Fantasy Football series’s to run alongside it & ITV i think showed a competitive programme during the tournament that tried to siphon off viewers & it was a car crash of a show half arsed rubbish it had idiotic guests, amateur production & hosted by none other than Kelly & some other balloon, this show might of been called “on the ball” or something like that, there was plenty of competitiveness between the shows they’d both be live & both shows would aim comments & digs at each others shows & obviously Frank being a funny bloke usually hit the mark & one episode he made a remark about Kelly looking like he wears
“a piglet scarf” now i’ve never been able to get that hilarious vision out me head anytime he appears.

If each club is limited to what they spend by PSR what does it matter who owns them?

Accusing clubs of being 'State owned' is just an excuse for the underachieving cash-cow clubs to divert the attention away from their owners syphoning the money out whilst their club plummets down the league.

Just a liar. He knows City are not state-owned but he dehumanises our owner by suggesting he can’t own his own personal wealth. When he says:”We all know what we are talking about,” he is using a racist trope that:” They are all the same aren’t they.” Kelly is a truly disgusting person.

It's also racist. All the state owned clubs are owned by light brown bed sheet wearing people. It was far better when we ruled North Africa.
Lawrence (of Arabia) wouldn't have allowed the barcodes take over that's for sure.

I think it's racist merely by coincidence - If a white British tycoon wanted to buy a club and pump his own wealth into it for no financial reward he would also be targeted.
