Would be a great addition, but around 80-90m pounds I think?
 
Just can’t see it. Newcastle would (rightly) demand a high fee and not sure we’d pay it.

Other areas are more important IMO (and the club’s given the urgency of Reijnders, Ait-Nouri and Cherki) so how much of the budget would be left?

In a weird way I feel like the chance to lock up a problem position (where there aren't many great options out there) and nail down a homegrown spot for a decade is almost the most important deal we can make long term.

which area given CM, AM and LB seem to be on the way, and another CM already in talks?

Don't think we have any budget issues, and we will bring in a fair bit. More whether Newcastle sell at a price we think is value.
 
I get the impression based on little data that Viana is a man that likes to see value in the deal. Not pulling the trigger on MGW yet, Wirtz ....

Sorry, I meant LB/CM/CAM are more important so money will go on those first (the names I mentioned).

If there’s budget left, then great, especially if there’s budget for TL. But importance to Newcastle, age and homegrown status will make it a massive fee.

gotcha, yeah the HG will be the most complicated, dont expect either wrapped before July.
 
If Gordon goes to Liverpool there is surely no chance of this happening as it would sort their psr issues.

We need to be looking elsewhere than wasting half a summer on this

I think part of it too is trying to alleviate the pressure that comes with a massive price tag. As someone who was once the next big thing and the Premier League’s most expensive teenager when he joined Newcastle, he’s probably very sensitive to the weight that kind of expectation can put on a player

Name a RB ready to go straight into the team available that won't take a lot of haggling to get and won't take half the summer.

If Gordon goes to Liverpool then they have a gap at left wing

We offer them Grealish plus £40m for Livramento

They solve their issue at left wing and trouser £40m plus the Gordon money to rebuild their squad

Is Gordon linked with the Scousers btw ?

It's not just about offering players + cash, I honestly wish it was that easy, the highest paid player there (Guimares) earns 180k, Jack is on 300k, do you see the problem?

We’re going to have to swallow Grealish’s wage differential wherever he goes , nobody is giving him £300k per week

On the other hand , he would be a marquee signing for Newcastle and they’d love him up there , it also softens the blow of losing a couple of good players
