Ok let’s just cast aside all injuries and any other struggles..I presume if haaland has a poor season next year, he’s also on the chopping block?

I think you’re being incredibly harsh. As I said he’s had one average season/ pretty much the entire team did as well.

I don’t get your comparison with stones and grealish. Stones has been consistently injured and grealish whilst being out of form, had apparently had personal issues - that’s over seasons, not one.

If we’re giving up on a player of the season after one average season (with injuries included) that smacks of short term thinking and an inability to bring players back into form.

Foden is world class, have a bit of faith in him mate
I get what you're saying and mostly agree but we're not the City of old playing plodder and rookies hoping to get things right to avoid relegation. We're a world class team full of fit and focused players who aspire to keep on winning silverware.

Haaland is world class but if his form turns to shit when he's not scoring and linking up to midfield do you think he'll still be a regular starter. I don't hence why Grealish started getting benched season after treble win. No player is not for sale in the squad. If the price is right and a player wants out a move Is usually granted.

Last season was a one off and maybe I was a bit harsh on Foden but he plays to be a winner, not an also ran. Several players are bring sold due to age injuries or loss of longterm form. We are rebuilding and evolving to try and regain titles we've won. That's the sign of an ambitious club with a ambitious manager.

That’s weird considering Doku and Savinho have go be world beaters already. Also I’ve been hearing all season that Bobb is the absolute talent from many here. Now that absolute talent is young enough while the other two should be let go.. hmm

Are you new to this place?

Savinho has had a decent season and there's no way we should be moving him on.

Doku deserves another season, but I remain unconvinced by him. There are flaws to his game that I remain concerned about and I'm not sure they can be ironed out.

I’m all for the shiny new toys (new signings) but not at the expense (as with Palmer) of our best young players.

I know Bobb had only played a few games before his injury but on those showings he looked as though he could bring the creativity we so badly lacked last season.

He has the ability to hold down a first team place next season if given a proper chance.

Previously we had Mahrez, De Bruyne, Gundogan and an in form Foden that provided the creativity, so plenty of room for Bobb in the squad.

Am I the only one NOT brainwashed by the Bobb cult? Hes looked good in his appearances definitely has potential but 99% are talking here like hes Yamal
Having different opinions on a player does not make anyone part of a cult, either way. One of the reasons we never went into the market last summer was because the club recognises and appreciates that Bobb is a special talent, a very special talent. Guardiola frequently made mention of Bobb and his injury last season, and his frustration at Bobb’s absence was palpable. Even a cursory look at Bobb’s career statistics should give anyone a clear idea that his potential is real, and when given the opportunity with the first-team he has impressed.

The only reason I can imagine the club would countenance a move now, even a loan, would be if there are concerns that his injuries are not healing. I pray that is not the case, because it would rob us all of something we’ve long waited to see.

He's nothing like Yamal and I agree there's still a long way for him to go however (and I hate introducing these "Spanish" football terminologies into my vocabulary) but based on our current squad, Bobb is the best in the "Pausa" style of play that Pep likes.

He has a lot of composure and knows how to hold the play, kill of the opponents instinct to predict the next move and then just put that pass that they didn't see coming. It's not necessarily a pass that leads to goals or anything but it opens up spaces and keeps the play going, I think that's Bobb's strength.

There is no way on earth we let him go now after missing him so badly this season. Especially with 4 years left on his contract. If he can stay fit, he'll be world class.

Have people forgotten how good he's been every time he's been on the pitch?

We certainly won't be loaning anyone to Newcastle - they're a rival, why would they develop our players for us?
I think he’s got a lot of potential, but can we really say we missed him so badly? He’s barely played for us.

Where has this myth come from that we didn't replace Alvarez because we had Bobb? 14th August I see is when his injury was first reported. Alvarez signed for Madrid 12th August. We had a few weeks to replace Alvarez after finding out Bobb was injured. There is zero link to either scenario.

I like Bobb, he has become the second coming since being injured, it hasn't helped we had such a shit year and we have piled so much hope and pressure on him performing now. Great prospect, I hope he lives up to the dizzy heights many fans have set for him.

I never made any connection with Alvarez, nor did I say Bobb was the second coming. He's been recognised as an exceptional talent, outside as well as inside the club, since he arrived in 2019, so I don't think the weight of any pontifications on Bluemoan are going to buckle his shoulders.

Up front we have... (potentially)
1 Haaland
2 Marmoush
3 Cherki
4 Foden
5 Doku
6 Savinho
7 Echeverri
8 Bobb

That's perfect for 4 places imo.

That implies that there are players who might have in the past played a more attacking role that we need to consider as CMs, FBs or have to sell. For example...
1. Bernardo
2. Kovacic
3. Gundogan
4. Nunes
5. McAtee

You mentioned not going into the market. But we wouldn't because all areas were overed, minus the hole Alvarez left, apologies if you didn't mean that. Many have said that in here that we didn't replace Alvarez because of Bobb, but that is bollocks. Even on your original point, we didn't go in the market because we had Bobb, why didn't we after his injury? Our transfer strategy had nothing to do with Bobb.

He is a great talent, but he has got a million times better since injury. Madness
