If we lose him this summer it will be a bad transfer window for me. This lad should be the future of the club either out wide or centrally.

If we do buy Cherki I don’t see how we can keep Doku, Marmoush, Savinho, Bobb, Foden, Echeverri the required game time and keep them happy.

It's why Pep likes a small squad. It's easier to give players game time. Of course, the downside to that is if we get injuries, but it's the risk he takes. We came unstuck this season gone with the Rodder's injury, and as a result players like Kova, Bernie and Gundo had to step up and play more games than they probably should have.

I'd be so so happy if we keep Oscar. I think he's a really talented attack minded player, and has the close control, quick feet and turn of pace required to break through parked bus defences.

22 in July, the lad isn't a kid anymore. He needs to be playing regularly now.

Doku at the same age played 172 career games in top flight football, Bobb has 30.

Club have got a big decision because if his game time is going to limited this season he might need a loan.

You can't really blame him for not playing when he broke his leg!

He was excellent in pre-season, building on some good moments the year before and a lot of us saw promising signs he was going to kick on and establish himself in the squad.

He's now back to where he was. He needs a good Club World Cup and then we'll see where he gets to. There's no clear one path fits all way to becoming a top footballer. Some take longer to establish themselves than others. I would still say 22 is young enough to give him time to develop more, particularly as he's not 22 until July.

Every lad in the Academy is 'highly rated' by City. That's why they're in there.

Oscar Bobb is just another potential star whose injury absence has almost certainly turned him into a probable cash cow.

His transfer 'value' now is probably double that it was before he broke his leg, thanks to 'that' goal against Newcastle, and the hype / expectation around him.

If we do sign Cherki,, I can see either Bobb or Foden being considered 'surplus to requirements'. If that is the case, I think City would take the first decent offer for Bobb.
There is zero chance foden is surplus to requirements.

That’s weird considering Doku and Savinho have go be world beaters already. Also I’ve been hearing all season that Bobb is the absolute talent from many here. Now that absolute talent is young enough while the other two should be let go.. hmm

I mean that’s exactly 7 players for 3-4 positions? Haaland won’t play EVERY Game and pep will hopefully learn to sub earlier.
If Echeverri gets a loan I seriously hope it’s in the PL.

Bernardo will also be used on the right of a three, add Haaland and that is 9 players across the front 4 positions and that is based on Grealish leaving and not including O Reilly, McAtee.

Pep has already said he does not want to leave players back in Manchester. Something will have to give and I hope it’s not Bobb

Obviously he has come through the City academy, we have scouted his abilities so it’s a bit obvious but he looks perfectly suited to the way we play.

Also he would really help us get our pressing game back, which Doku, Savinho and possibly Cherki may need work on.

At 22 he does need game time and If his route looks blocked he might look elsewhere.

If he has another duff season City may think differently this time next year. No player is indispensable, homegrown talent or not.
That’s not happened though.

6 or 7 great seasons (best player in the league not that long ago) and he has one bad season and posters think he’ll be sold! Completely ridiculous

Is the rule now two bad seasons and they’re sold? We’re not going to have many players when we inevitably don’t win trophies for a few years

Last season he was duff, especially when you consider he was PFA POTY season before last. You think different?
He was injured though and has admitted to struggling with his mental health. Every player has a bad season. I’m not going to write off one of our best players so quick

It’s not as if anyone else in the side played brilliant either

Injuries and personal problems aside Foden was average to poor when he played. He's an experienced player now and when fit needs to focus on games. I'm not criticising him but we cannot carry any player over a sustained period of time. That's why a few players will be released. Stones will be if we can get him to agree a move. And If Grealish hadn't have that 100m tag round his neck like a lead weight he would have been sold last summer. We tried to offload him this time last year IIRC.

Ok let’s just cast aside all injuries and any other struggles..I presume if haaland has a poor season next year, he’s also on the chopping block?

I think you’re being incredibly harsh. As I said he’s had one average season/ pretty much the entire team did as well.

I don’t get your comparison with stones and grealish. Stones has been consistently injured and grealish whilst being out of form, had apparently had personal issues - that’s over seasons, not one.

If we’re giving up on a player of the season after one average season (with injuries included) that smacks of short term thinking and an inability to bring players back into form.

Foden is world class, have a bit of faith in him mate

I don’t think having a serious injury in a season should be described as a duff season.

I rate Oscar very highly and I don't think that he will be sacrificed. I expect him to stay and compete for his place, and it wouldn't surprise me if he is the one who keeps it. Wishful thinking, perhaps, but I have seen enough to think that he could be a superstar.

There is no way on earth we let him go now after missing him so badly this season. Especially with 4 years left on his contract. If he can stay fit, he'll be world class.

Have people forgotten how good he's been every time he's been on the pitch?

We certainly won't be loaning anyone to Newcastle - they're a rival, why would they develop our players for us?
