PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

I would say if we're found to be innocent of the charges our owners could and should take the PL to court.

Even if we wouldn't win that case, even if there's no precedent for it and the PL threaten to kick us out of the league, we really should get that issue (the PL doing a witch hunt) into the public domain and let the media do the rest.
The media are never ever going to be on our side. I have just accepted that this is the way it's going to be, and nothing we do or say will change that unfortunately.

Yeh, even if we win the arguments will be:

a) we were clever and didn’t get caught

OR

B) we paid them off

Off topic.

Here’s how United are cooking the books and passing PSR, etc.

"Everybody is looking at the New York company - Manchester United plc but there is another company called Red Football which is owned by the Glazers and that is forming the basis of the PSR calculation.

"The losses at Red Football Ltd are far lower than they are at Manchester United plc so therefore the extent of the damage is far less than originally envisaged."

Couldn’t agree with you more - this all goes back to the 60’s and 70’s when certain teams were given guaranteed prime time spots on Match of the Day and their gravy train has been taking passengers ever since. City weren’t one of those teams and those teams and their followers will never accept that City has overtaken them all and is fast becoming a global force.

Not sure where I got that from. Probably here

And obviously I wasn't asserting that "in every single case in human history, somebody thinks this". Nobody could possibly presume that in any statement made by anybody ever, they meant that level of generality rather than a piece of loose hyperbole.

It would be like someone pulling you up on calling some journo a **** and saying, "sorry GDM that is wholly wrong. The person in question is actually an adult human male and a vagina is only a genital that some people possess rather than the holistic totality of their being".

How's about instead we give each other the benefit of the doubt that we're probably going to say things in a generalised way that don't literally apply in every case ever?
you’ve misunderstood my point above. I meant People go to trial believing they can win and have good arguments. This doesn’t mean the lawyers come out of the trial always thinking it’s gone well. Every barrister I’ve met is fairly objective on how it went and most question themselves throughout the trial too.

Thoughts on this United PSR analysis by Kieran Maguire? @slbsn @Prestwich_Blue
It’s useful to look at Red Football and it clarifies one or two things but we always knew the listed company numbers were adjusted for PSR. And the article says that Red Football is also adjusted. So it’s merely a bit more detail. I’ve been through those accounts but frankly it’s too boring to tweet even for me. I think the £40m Covid thing makes little sense given the disclosures in there but it’s done. PSR is dead post Chelsea anyway - even if United had an issue they could simply move the Women’s team into a new sub and create £200m “profit”.

FFS, City are even being linked to the possible Inter Milan scandal.

The allegations are totally different.

MSN, Yank, cunts!

Just as Manchester City faces similar allegations in the Premier League, Inter Milan now finds itself on the precipice of disaster.

Do you think we’ll see clubs copying Chelsea then? Newcastle, Villa, Everton & Forest are all ambitious and have PSR problems.

Any chance of any consequences for all these tricks down the line even if they are within the rules. I mean the Covid losses and values fo me womens team seem made up when compared to sponsorship fair value. Surely City should be looking at another ATP type case in these areas ?

One of the reasons the losses are lower in Red Football is that they receive interest from other companies in the group. UEFA would probably disqualify intra-group transactions but PSR is such a pile of shite that the PL will just probably nod it through.

I always look at the cashflow statement though, as that's what really counts from a business point of view, and without the proceeds of a share issue they'd have been in trouble.

How is it not classed as an APT? If an owner loaning money is an APT then surely selling the ladies team to themselves is worse?

Oh I can 100% be sure that we haven't been given the verdict and are just sitting on it to for the sake of the PL. Or vice versa. Because that is fucking lunacy!

And because literally every person of any relevance whatsoever at the club has publicly said so.

So Khaldoon is a man of truth when it comes to talking about our innocence, but an flat faced liar when he is debunking our conspiracy theories? Aye ok.

I tend to agree, but the world sometimes isn't as black and white as we would like it to be.

APTs aren't banned, they just have to be at market value. Iirc, they had a transaction to support the market value?

Of course I’ve gone 360 & forgot where I’m up to with it all & they’ve classed it as market value. In my defence I’m bedridden with flu ;)
