Looks like I may have been right that they'll remove it in coupled bays. You can see the first one that has had purlins stripped on both sides has had a yellow lifting beam attached to the ends bridging both rhe existing beams.

If it isn’t raining I will do an early morning visit before work and take a look.
I think it’s been dropped down onto where they took the rows of seats out at the front

It slopes downwards. The end beams also bend inwards so they can join up with the curve of the original roof.

Its difficult being a City fan.
The roof section that has been removed looks much longer than the roof sections still in place, even though they are presumably the same lengths?

Clever how they designed the temporary supports at the back of the old roof, dark grey, to pivot the old section down

They removed the first few rows to prevent that it seems.

Great video ssskies - I counted the seats of the north end of the 3rd tier extensions whilst you were focussing on the New Screen - 133 seats in each corner - thats a potential 266 seats that could have gone in whilst the South Stand expansion was being done - we would have been clear over 62,000 then - missed opportunity to my mind :-(

What I find interesting is that the whole hinged drop down setup that enables the old roof to be removed, was there all along hiding in plain sight - simply the fact that the temporary supports are hinged on the mounts on the concrete terrace gives it away!

Honestly, I'm not complaining. :-)
I prefer your other drone location, opposite the East stand.
The video of the Etihad and the city centre skyline as the drone fly's towards the North stand is immense.
I appreciate the Colin Bell stand is closer, and it gives better and quicker access to the North stand.
Both locations have their merits.
