PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Correct me if I am wrong but, didn't City say that if the ruling went against them, then they would accept whatever punishment was eventually handed down and not appeal?
This indicates to me that City are confident of their vindication.
The PL are entering 'squeaky bum time' imo.

Whats this?
From the BBC.
Rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic

Arsenal have agreed a fee of about £59m with Real Sociedad for Spain midfielder Martin Zubimendi, 26, with the move to be completed after 1 July to help with meeting Financial Fair Play (FFP) regulations

I don’t understand why Stefan & Simon both agree there needs to be some sort of rules required when it’s clear clubs & owners who vote these rules in don’t.
Clubs have gone bust for over a 150 years, now they stay alive by starting again in the bottom rung of the ladder, which is exactly what they hoped for City.

Hmm. What you describe in councils is not corrupt. Councils enter into binding purchasing contracts based on the lowest tender. They then have to buy from the supplier at the agreed price. To do otherwise is to break the contract, which makes them liable to be sued.

This is the normal practice across the public sector and has been in place for a long time. The alternative would be not to have a purchasing contract and let individual members of staff buy randomly from whoever. Would the latter work out cheaper across multi-million-pound organisations? Colour me doubtful at best.
I'm not talking about normal day too day operative, I'm talking about the stuff you don't see. You're assuming that there's no corruption and everything they do is above board. £24 million to extend a tramway 300 yards? Really?

Then there's the sneaky laws they bring in for no other reason than to make money, such as fining somebody £1000 for putting their bin out for the binmen (or whatever they're called these days) one day early, and other totally outrageous amounts for minor misdemeanours. Sorry, but that's corruption in my view.

Another one is issuing fake summons for council tax arrears, and I have actual proof of that one.

Council corruption can be as subtle as neglect—ignoring potholes, failing to maintain streets or housing, and allowing an area to deteriorate. Over time, the decline makes compulsory purchase seem more appealing, enabling acquisitions at a lower price.

This isn’t the Anfield Liverpool fc thread.

And how easy it is for a single word like, say, ‘raisin’ to be misinterpreted into something like, say, ‘Virgin’ completely skewing the meaning.

Should we win cleanly, you can see the desperate client media now, searching overseas articles and quotes for any such titbit that might, with some bent logic, suggest we weren’t in fact quite so innocent.

…and then they will have finally eaten their tail…
