@slbsn was excellent as ever.
Hearing that the potential for porential appeals and sanction hearings going on well into next year is rather depressing.
He was indeed as excellent and informative as he always is on this subject.
As a fan, I can sometimes find myself getting frustrated with his even-handedness (playing down our chances etc) but then I remember that he is a qualified and experienced financial lawyer and it is in his nature to be so. And very good at it he is too.
We’re lucky to have him on here.
As an aside, I believe that the subtle shift recently to “oh my god, this could drag on for years and it’s damaging ‘the product’ “ is perhaps a device by the media and their acolytes to gradually set the future narrative for when City are cleared of all serious wrong doing from “they were entirely innocent” to one of “they bloody did it but the PL had to let them off to avoid dragging the good name of our game through the mud for any longer. Those bloody grinning Arab bastards”
I expect full exoneration of all the serious charges and a damning verdict of “guilty as sin” on a minor, technical, charge of “failing to provide all requested information, subject to clause III, sub-section X, paragraph iv, rule 349b” which of course those entirely non-racist paragons of virtue in the British media, all of it, will shout about for the next few years.
