£58 million is the most ever spent on a right back for Hakimi. Livramento is worth about £40 million max unless we are desperate which I don’t think we are.

Talk of paying more money than PSG paid for a player nowhere near as good is mad to me. I hope City look elsewhere if the prices being talked about are true that is.

It's gotta be difficult to profile a home-grown player correctly as, ideally, you'd want them to take spots in the squad where consistency and regularity are.
Right-back is a good option as there's a gaping hole there, so it seems ideal to plug that with the home-grown option.

I do wonder if, from a forward planning option, the club are looking into other areas where a home-grown player could be a nailed-on regular starter. Personally, I just don't see where in the team.

I wouldn't sell either of them. Both are extremely talented. One is coming off a bad injury and the other off a relatively poor year but we'd regret letting either one go.

Stones Walker Grealish Ake and maybe Lewis could all be gone by the end of the next season

There's nothing wrong with a small squad. The problem is when you have a small squad of injury-prone players. Let's be honest, the reason we've now got 7 centre backs is because two of the best ones are constantly injured and we're paper thin at full back too.

If you hope to go deep in more than one competition, rotation is crucial. Even if everyone stays fit all season, it's crazy to expect a player to play over 50 games. Even before his injury, Rodri was shattered. We need to manage the lads' game time; consequently, we need a decent sized squad.

We have loads of leeway on PSR, more than anyone else. Think somebody posted a chart that showed we had something like £350 mill we could spend.

That's excellent. But as I said a few pages back, City have form for walking away from a transfer if they think the price is too high. Which it probably will be with this guy.
