I wouldn't bother with any player that doesn't want to come here. £80m for a player that looks decent, but not great and might not make it is a bit much.
Yes; I get it; it's the market these days. But no full back is worth 80m*. And I can't see why the Geordies would even entertain thoughts of selling him, even for that sort of daft money.Offer £80 million and say take it or leave it .
still overrated in terms of his skill level...people were saying he was better than Foden in tems of individual skill level... and look at whathas happened....despite winning a treble his mentality, professionalism and contribution on the pitch have all come under serious question and he has been subsequently out of the team since winning the treble...despite being still around the peak age for a footballer....not even in he CWC squad...why? - cause he aint good enough and he is being sold...rightly soYet he helped us win the treble..
That’s not the best negotiation tactic I’ve ever seenOffer £80 million and say take it or leave it .
ExactlyThis is exactly the public response you would expect from Eddie Howe and Newcastle,
Why? There aren’t many full backs with great assist stats. Walker was the best full back in the world for years wasn’t he?I think for £80m for a full back we should expect both
which options? Munoz and Aina ain’t long term enough. Vanderson isn’t HG. Maybe I don’t know about some hidden gems out there but those are the only 3 that come into my mind. Hakimi isn’t available for that price and wouldn’t move anyways let alone PSG wouldn’t even answer a call. For £80m there are much better options.
Peak Kyle was loads better IMO than current Livramento and for me peak Kyle wasn’t worth £80m in today’s market because of his limitations, such as lack of assists. And if £80m doesn’t guarantee you anything don’t spend it, which I doubt we will. £50m top price limit for TL for me.Why? There aren’t many full backs with great assist stats. I don’t remember him being a world class attacking player. 80m doesn’t guarantee anything
Probably the same situation as Bruno G.
I’m not sure about that at present. For me Dumfries is better, albeit older. Could sign him for a few years and wait for Rico and other academy products to come through. Paying £80m for Liveramento isn’t a great use of cash imo.The only clear option above anyone else at RB is hakimi and he isn’t available for 100 let alone 80M pounds.
And now I’m going to laugh at you for quoting yourself. Obviously there is zero reason a player would want to move to City from Newcastle. In champions league, dirty oil money owners. Same exact clubs basically, right?Got laughed at for posting this a few weeks ago. Turns out it's been the case all along. Who knew?
Waiting for Rico to get to a level that could step in for Dumfries we're all going to need to afford deep cryo freeze.Could sign him for a few years and wait for Rico and other academy products to come through.
Maybe leave it to the people who know what they’re doing and get paid for that knowledge. Just a thought.Exactly
If the player wants a move that’s a start
Then you find out a fee
Then if it’s a fee we’re comfortable with
Then you try and negotiate down
Then the player has to push as well
It’s not a simple deal. Newcastle will want top dollar and that’s their right
Bit like the briefing saying we want £50m for Grealish
I read that’s as we’d take £40m in a heartbeat

Problem with comparing him to Walker is that Walker is the best RB the prem has ever seen. It’s very hard to replicate but we can albeit at a different levelPeak Kyle was loads better IMO than current Livramento and for me peak Kyle wasn’t worth £80m in today’s market because of his limitations, such as lack of assists. but I think we all knew we will have to over pay by like 40 mil if we get Livra. He’s English and 22. There’s no way around it. He hasn’t pulled up any trees but he’s still a really good player. Not sure if the huge fee is justified
