PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

If the charges had been proven, surely the PL wouldn't have waited more than a few minutes to issue City's guilt and points deduction. We are now months on and, seemingly, the decision has been gathering dust somewhere.
Perhaps the PL hope is that the dust will gather ever deeper; the fiasco gets forgotten as the months and years pass.
Governments use reviews lasting years to hide awkward 'stuff' behind.
Maybe the PL hope that the media will eventually get bored with it and move on to other stuff.
The ayatollahs fleeing Iran and buying out the Glazers would keep the media busy.

I think what old Albert was trying to say is this...If you are out and about, getting on with things, enjoying yourself then time passes more quickly than if you're just sat in front of a screen with your thumb up your arse.
What if you’re sat in front of a screen showing porn, with a thumb up your arse and enjoying it, would time seem to move faster?

He doesn't say that. He said it's quite possible that the whole process of liability and any subsequent sanction hearing won't be completed until 2026. But if there's no liability, there's no sanction.
+ the process includes appeals at each stage (either by City, if charges proved, or PL, if charges unsubstantiated - though that's doubtful, the PL appealing).

As you and Stefan say, the only thing that will occur in the possibly near future, but might still be in 2026+, is whether the charges have been proved, or thrown out. Any sanction deciding and appeals are an entirely new timescale after that.

It's these distinctions and knowledge of the process, that highlight what utter crap 99% of the media/social media commentators covering this know. And is about the same amount for nonCity fans.

If the charges are unproven, the other clubs should urge the PL not to appeal, throwing good money after bad. Just take it on the chin, sack Masters and move on.

Fixtures out tomorrow. Surely that means relegation even without appeals would have to be for the season after next. Another soft signal we have won. Imagine the outrage if we were relegated but still got to play in the Premier league next year !

So according to Stefan's substack we are not getting even the initial liability decision until 2026 and possibly until the end of the season? I was led to believe this was an imminent, few weeks left type deal
Really no idea how that was your take away. I think the liability decision is imminent and literally say that in the substack. When imminent is, who knows. This week, next week?

Good point.

i wonder, does that mean the PL are aware of the verdict. Or are they just carrying on regardless, like they do.
