Not a particularly sharp performance but a fairly comfortable win really.

Still very easy to catch on the break. It's definitely a weak spot for us and I do think it comes with the terrotrity because of how many players we get forward, we just didn't used to get caught so much because we used to keep possession much better.

Wydad weren't a bad little side actually and they actually turned up for a game of footy rather than just play a flat back 9.

It was a foul the other way. Perfect tackle by Lewis and other guy slid in 4 minutes late and studs up.

And then Lewis raised his boot and caught the other player in the face.

It seemed to me to be an instinctive defensive reaction by Lewis. He could see that he was going to get clobbered and was trying to protect himself. But he definitely lifted his boot and made contact to the face.

A “commonsense” interpretation of the rules would have ruled that it was accidental/self defence. But commonsense doesn’t come into it nowadays

Contrary to what some on here might like to believe, not every City fan is an angel sent down from heaven to fight the good fight against the demons from Trafford and Merseyside.We've always had cunts in our fanbase, unfortunately. Lewis maybe reckless in his follow through after clearing the ball and their guy was reckless with his tackle, a not as bad as it looked no fault collision for me

You are assuming the occupants of Stokley Park understand VAR themselves, I’m not so sure they do.

We played some good stuff but looked understandably rusty. Wydad were alright and played some good football themselves.

Reijnders looks good already, Cherki was bobbins but so was Haaland on his debut.
Aké, Foden and especially Ederson played very well.

I thought it was a red card. An unfortunate red card but you can’t not send a player off for studding someone in the face.

The kit looked nice on the players.

His left hip is on the floor so his right leg is above his left leg. I hope this helps.

That was myself. I think a lot of the comments are more than fair considering how he has performed for us. He’s way off it and leaves us very vulnerable. I also posted “Rico Edghill” earlier, he’s the modern day Edghill. I was around.

For once, just fucking ONCE, I would love to see our local English support appreciate what us Yank blues go through to support the team we love. Your country is the size of fucking New Jersey, yeah the M12 is a mess, yeah the trains are inconsistent. Only because the Wydad player slid in way after the ball had gone. The context is everything.
If it had been a 50/50 challenge Lewis would definitely have been in the wrong. As it was a 100/0 challenge Lewis can't be expected to anticipate the opponents stupidity.
