I agree and as soon as I saw it happen live I said the same.just dropping in to say i thought it probably was a red in this thread after getting pelters in the match thread
all the arguments we dismissed from Liverpool fans about Mane v Ederson (momentum, he went for the ball, intention, wasnt looking at him) can be applied here.
Lewis didnt need to have his foot bounce up and studs out like it did, he could have brought it away. he chose not to and it was reckless and dangerous.
And some of them are better than a lot of "home made' Blues. The vast majority of Wydad fans were US based Moroccan folk, very few would have travelled from the home country.
And as much as some of our fan base are the “Let’s Go City” type, last night at the Philly supporters club event, there was about 10 or so of us old school blues sat in the corner. Only 2 had an official City shirt / merchandise on. Where as the let’s go City types were decked out in official club gear. They may be mocked but they are pouring millions into the club where as I certainly am not doing so…….
I agree, bar maybe NOR 6 Savinho 6 and Cherki 6, the latter as a favour for debiutEderson - 7

Reijnders - 8
Cherki - 5.5
Foden - 8
Savinho - 7
Doku -7
Marmoush -6

Spoke to a young lad and his girfriend at the City supporters do last night, they hsd driven from Detroit, 10 hours!
Indeed. We like to pride ourselves as being great fans. Stuck by the club when we went down to the third tier, never been afraid to laugh at ourselves, great sense of humour (the whole banana/inflatables craze) etc etc. But it's one of our less desirable traits that a section of our fanbase do love to target players for abuse. Some of the stuff posted on here sickens me. What do these "fans" hope to achieve by dishing out abuse to a 20 year old? It's ba
It goes further back. I remember Neil Young getting some stick as well.We all wax lyrical about Maine Rd but it was also well known for turning on our own players at times.
The shit Edghill got was fucking appalling
The two incidents you’re describing are entirely different. Rico’s tackle was actually perfect. It was just unlucky that the momentum and collision with the opposition player led to his boot flicking up.just dropping in to say i thought it probably was a red in this thread after getting pelters in the match thread

I not sure they better in any way
I know loads of ‘home made’ blues who do 5 hour plus journeys to a game and then back again the same day, midweek, early Saturday and Sunday etc in all weathers
Not just once on a big trip because a tournament has landed in their country
I've given up on knowing what is a red card and what is not, so I can't agree or disagree with the red card, but one thing was it was nothing like Manes challenge on Ederson.just dropping in to say i thought it probably was a red in this thread after getting pelters in the match thread

We also won’t be playing that line upIt was quite concerning that a very average team caused us the same type of problems as team did last season.
Thankfully they didn’t have the quality to capitalise but we won’t get away with that against prem sides.
I hope it was just the heat
Not worth responding to mate. He’s already said that he said the same earlier and got pelters, so clearly doing it again to get responses. The two incidents you’re describing are entirely different. Really soft red card, but that’s football now.
Manes put his foot at head height and caught Ederson in his head (shockingly). Mistimed, yes. But also dangerous because he intended his foot to be at head height, we’ve seen numerous overhead kick attempted be given as fouls for the same reason. And he kicked Ederson in the facejust dropping in to say i thought it probably was a red in this thread after getting pelters in the match thread

You've been sent off, leave. End of....you don't play for fucking united.I agree and as soon as I saw it happen live I said the same.
It was even more cringey to watch him pleading with the ref and 'asking questions'
You've been sent off, just get off, all he did was embarass himself.
And yes, I'm no fan of Lewis.
