It just annoys me that they are strengthening and still looking to strengthen. Frimpong probably isn't Trent level, but Kerkez is a massive upgrade on Robertson though.

Wirtz and Marmoush are different players entirely. Wirtz is a world class player and it annoys me that he's going there.

I might be wrong and you might be right, but I guess we will have to see.

I'm happy with Cherki over Wirtz as I said previously. Cherki isn't as good as Wirtz right now, but he could be even better given time.
And we haven't strengthened with new signings never mind getting Rodri back.

What about Wirtz is world class, because it's not the numbers.

It's the constant propaganda, say it often enough and people will start believing it.
He led Leverkusen to their first title in the clubs history at 21 years old. People who actually watch him know he was the best player in the Bundesliga for the last 2 seasons.

Nothing. he is a shitty player many clubs wanted to pay 100M+ for

He led Leverkusen to their first title in the clubs history. He's obviously a top quality player which is why City and Bayern were interested in him.

He ISN'T the only player that was available that is outstanding, in fact Marmoush was outstanding in the German league.

Nobody is disputing that Wirtz might be half decent but the scouse have had better signings and it's extremely unlikely this signing is anywhere near deserving of this giddy panicking hyperbole on the board from the FIFA 2025 mob and Panini sticker brigade.

If we'd have paid 100 million for him the narrative from some of the fans on the forum would be very different. He's gone for alot of money, but it doesn't take away the fact he's a top class player - like Haaland was when we signed him.

You look at some of the players who've gone for big money, Enzo Fernandez, Jack Grealish, Romelu Lukaku, Paul Pogba, Felipe Caicedo, Antony. I could be wrong but I don't see Florian Wirtz flopping like those in that list. He's going to be the one of the league's best players like Haaland is.

Marmoush wasn't anywhere near Wirtz level in the Bundesliga. I'm sorry.

It was more of a surprise breakout season for Marmoush, who 2 years before was released on a free by Wolfsburg and before that was not wanted by Stuttgart after his loan. He wasn't a superstar from 19 years old like Florian Wirtz was in the Bundesliga. Completely different stories. Marmoush has developed into a fine player who's improving rapidly but you can't compare the 2 players.

One of those £100m flops won three league titles in a row, a Champions League and was an integral part of a team which did the treble.

He won’t flop at all hd is a top quality player and will be a mainstay for years to come for club and country and it’s a shame we didn’t get him but we move on .

Didn't the dippers have the best keeper in the world, best defender in the world and best forwards in the world according to Klopp a couple of seasons ago?
That turned out well for them as we went on and won the treble and followed it up with 4 in a row during the same period.
Don't let the red media try and scaremonger you mate.
They're full of shit

If they get Isak and Guehi on top of what they've got then it's going to difficult for the rest of the league to keep up with them. Reminds me of when United won 3 titles in a row and bought Veron, Blanc and Nistelrooy. I'm hoping Liverpool go the same way as that United team did and finish 3rd in the following season following their transfers.

I feel if Liverpool do bring in those players we've got to go with them and match them stride for stride. Livramento deal would be crucial. Feel we missed a huge trick not putting our foot on the gas (blowing Arsenal out of the water for Declan Rice) when we were in a position of strength and winning league titles.
We are already ready. No matter who they buy.

He is nowhere near Haaland. Let's be honest, Haaland was tearing it up domestically and in Europe. Wirtz did fuck all on the biggest stage, got shown up by an Everton reject ffs.

Hes got decent numbers at Bayer, sure. Hes nowhere near the quality and achievements that Kev had at Wolfsburg.

Different players. Different positions. That's like comparing David Silva to Sergio Aguero or Luka Modric to Karim Benzema.

They probably did have the best Keeper and possibly (debatable with Stones) the best Defender, but we had the best manager and a much better squad.

True, but he was only really present for the treble winning season. That's more down to his mentality than his ability.
