If there was irrefutable evidence then you would expect the PL legal team to advise the PL to save its money. I’m not even sure it’s possible to have irrefutable evidence for all of the charges. Okay the Mancini thing might be a sworn statement by the key individuals and copies of bank statements but even then the PL might suggest off-book arrangements. How do you prove that hasn’t occurred. Luckily the legal system will be concentrating on the likelihood of this happening and will demand evidence from the PL which is equally likely to not be irrefutable evidence.

Yeah I see where you're coming from. Semantics ultimately. We could believe our evidence is irrefutable, but that's only true if we do get off the charges!

I wouldn't expect any lawyers to turn down a lucrative job!

Why would we want to save the Premier League money ?
 
For what it's worth, my take on all of this is that despite all the extra time and effort it takes, potato croquettes are probably my favourite method of consuming the humble spud, especially if you add a few finely sliced spring onions into the mashed potato mix, almost like little bite sized chunks of bubble and squeak, bloody lovely!

And a pie simply isn't really worth eating if it hasn't got a puff pastry top. I often very carefully remove the pastry top of a fray bentos pie (generally the chicken variant) with a fish slice prior to cooking and place it on a pre-heated baking tray to maximize the rise as it makes for a much more enjoyable culinary experience.

All just my opinion of course.

You cannot prove a negative, that is an impossibility, the pl can suggest anything it likes but have no basis of fact in that but that is just accusations and they hold no weight in legal cases, you have to have evidence to backup your assertions otherwise its pointless, irrefutable evidence is us saying heres our audited accounts for the past x number of years verified by some of the top auditing firms in the world AND accepted by you guys, that evidence is black and white and irrefutable all the other charges are just noise and padding to make a laughably weak case look somewhat plausible.

The PL legal team could have advised them to save their money in the leicester case and they didnt, they could have advised them to save their money in the APT case and they didnt, the PL legal team gets paid either way and weak cases get brought all the time despite legal advice that the case has no chance of proceeding because the visuals are more important than the result, take the recent diddy case where they tried to drag jay z into it when he was demsonstrably 5000 miles away at the time of the alleged incident but sometimes its easier to just give a few million quid to make it go away than have your name dragged into it this happens all the time. This is what they expected with city, that we would take a pinch, a minor points deduction and the PL could say look we have our house in order, we can look after everything, they didnt expect us to fight back and they have been scrambling ever since, so just because it has got this far dont assume that the case was strong to begin with, this was always much more about the visuals than the actual charges.

The PL legal team told them not to change the wording of the APT rules but Masters the genius and his pals ignored that advice. They drew up illegal rules. The PL leadership is more stupid than you can imagine. That was clear when Masters spoke to the Commons Select Committee.

I'm with @Prestwich_Blue on this. When Magic Hat turned up, there was the faux argument with each other, when they were both online at the same time, after Harris arrived home in Scotland following attending a game in Southampton. Then Harris accused Magic of being an American student, but there was evidence against this from their online activity. And then Harris conveniently decided to put Magic on ignore.

All this allows Magic to spout his nonsense without Harris having to be labelled a paranoid idiot, and he gets to retain the shreds of remaining credibility.

Going off at a tangent to my point. However I agree the PL do appear to be unwise with the advice being given by their legal advisors from what is in the public domain.

I suppose the great unknown, is how much pressure the PL have come under from some of its biggest clubs? Clubs that seem to get away with almost anything financial, clubs which vet and interview candidates for the PL CEO job, clubs who’s expectations are winning things every year, making the most cash and buying any other challenging clubs best players…

Getting back to more important issues I am partial to potatoes Boulangere but my favourite heart attack way of cooking them is as fondant potatoes.
