Club World Cup - Summer 2025

There really isn[t much of a bigger commitment than those who have follwed City out to this tournament. I can see from the banners there are some. Hats off to every single one of you.
If we all had the money and time,a lot more would be there,I wish I could afford to be over there.

Have you watched Pep's pre-Al Hilal press conference? It is on www/mancity.com.

He is asked about Klopp's comments on the Club World Cup and on whether the CWC will damage City's Premier League season. I liked his answers. They were honest. He said he would ideally prefer the rest but he doesn't organise the competitions. He is faced with making the best of what he have. At the moment he is trying to use the competition to re-build the identity of the team. He didn't use those exact words but I think this is his meaning.

City look to me like we are bonding as a group and recovering our self-confidence. I also think that we have a large number of new signings from January and June and being together 24/7 is a great way to build a team.

Not a bad article, did the Treble 3 years ago but apart from that quite positive for a change.
Manager Pep Guardiola and his men endured a miserable 2024-25 campaign without lifting a major trophy

Miserable season is fa cup final and 3rd.

Yeah, it's hot here in June and not easy to be running around a football field in 90 degrees. But the World Cup was here in the USA in the summer of 1994 with games in NJ, Orlando, Chicago and Pasadena among other places. I don't recall any of those games being stopped for the weather so I'm not sure what's changed to have all these interruptions now.

There was no noticeable rain in the 1994 world cup, nowt you could see on telly anyway.

The water was in polytene bags handed to players in Orlando. Ray Houghton got booked v Mexico for having one in his hand when when he had the ball in play. Hot yes, rain no.

Hmm we have been assuming we play Inter in the quarters if we win tonight.. But Inter losing early in 2H. What do we know about Fluminese?

Well we beat them last time, apart from the penalty/offside decision at 1-0 up it was a comfortable 4-0.

The team of Thiago Silva. Huge determination. But if we can beat Al Hilal, we should beat them. Just got to make sure we don't get complacent and play like Inter.

I think tonight's game v Al Hilal could be tough. They are unbeaten and drew with Real Madrid so we need to beat them first.
