Club World Cup - Summer 2025

Change my mind about Silva but Gundogen Edison and now Dias should be the first 3 to get trimmed from the squad

To all the Blues still out there hope you have had a great trip.

2029 would be great in Brazil but theyve no chance with Qatar lurking.
yeah I agree another Middle East venue is on the cards. As bad as city were last night I thought the ref was awful the cynic in me was thinking this PIF wants their pound flesh for the money they invested to save this tournament. And having one of their teams go far will be good for them but that’s just me making excuses for city

So just get rid of the first choice keeper and first choice centre back. Not a chance that’s going to happen
That’s the problem should be buying a goalie and as for Dias being our first choice CB I don’t see that anymore with his injury record and evident pace issues if we insist on playing this high line and regularly getting done for pace on a transition

will be a bit livid to be fair if Chelsea and Maresca rips apart this Al hilal side in the semis...
unless Fluminense does them first which is also not impossible.

Watched all the game and the ref was excellent. Wasn't falling for any shenanigan's from either team.

Al Hilal are garbage. We made them look good with our incompetent defending and tactics. All they did was pack the defence and hope for the best. We should of been wise to losing possession and the counter but like last year we are clueless to defend the counter attack.

Juve are out.

So any team from PSG, Bayern, Real, or Chelsea to win it.

Chelsea are pretty much guaranteed a final place in my opinion. They have a great run-in to the final now City are out. Arrrgh!

The ref and their play acting antics made it a hard watch without putting my size 10s through the TV. We are far too rule compliant sometimes (on the pitch)

Puzzles me how Gundogan at nearly 35 keeps getting starts ahead of lads 10-12 years younger. Looks like he's staying by the looks of this.
Pep just doesn't fancy Nico at all.
Nico has always looked just fine to me, Obviously getting well paid but we are stunting his caree

I’ve not watched it again and most likely won’t but at the time I thought he was giving them an awful lot of soft free kicks and then at the end of the game stopping it constantly for them faking injury

I was never a fan of this tournament, from a perspective of never ending games, financial overkill, player burnout, Americanisation and so forth, but i always want City to win no matter what the game is.

However, we have finally entered the 'off-season', or summer or whatever you call it where you're from, and I have to say i feel relief. This state of perma-football is a constant creep and it'll be nice to get away from it for 2 months.

I have a feeling that this CWC was something people were really hoping would expunge the disappointing (and somewhat repeatedly so) performances of last season with a new look, fast exciting team. I can understand that. A lot of us wanted to see some 'old' Pep, the vim and panache after a bit of a trying season.

I think reality bites; things aren't generally fixed with some new signings and 3 or 4 games. They need a break, then some training, and a new season. I think it'll come good but go out and enjoy the sunshine :)
