Tino Livramento

Before we bought Walker he...
- Was chosen in 16/17 team of the season - - Won young player of the season in 2012 (beating Aguero and Sturridge)
- Had 180 Premier league appearances

He was comfortably the best RB in the league, not the best HG RB in the league but the best

Its not really comparable to Livramento who's not as established
You should really search up the several hundred page Kyle Walker thread in here. Opinions were divided shall I say. Tevez City preferred Ricardo from Porto (he's at Leicester now) and said he was better as was Hector Bellerin (Real Betis).
This isn't to pick on him, we all get it wrong, just pointing out how opinions change in hindsight.

Had a talk about the right back situation…

Despite being our number one target for the right back spot.

We are not prepared to waste time. So I am being told expect a move for him soon. And then if Newcastle play hard ball we will move on.

Rest assured, the club want a right back.

Being told the club are willing to listen to offers for Nunes.

Dumfries interest as far as he is concerned is not true. The club are wanting a more all rounded right back.

Outgoings are still being discussed by club and Pep. And is priority.

He was left out because we were playing a pub side and so he could play in an actual tournament. Anyone who genuinely thinks Kyle Walker is still a better fullback than this lad must be clueless
I didn't mention Kyle walker once in the post. I was thinking more TAA and Reece James, both called up against the pub team, both more likely to be England's starting RB come the world cup in 12 months, both better footballers and I wouldn't pay 70 to 80 mil for them either.

We rode things out last season without replacing Alvarez. That lasted until January.

We rode things out last season with a bunch of injury prone centre backs. That lasted until January.

We rode things out last season with a rapidly ageing Kyle Walker. He lasted until January.

Khaldoon acknowledged we weren't proactive enough. Let's not slip back into that after an excellent start to the summer.
Yea, but as we all well know, we've been uber productive in our dealings so far. By saying we can ride with what we have, whats implied there is that we've stacked up pretty substantially over the last year (January and June) to aee things out .

His overall claim also is that, Livramento, may be a good player, but he is not the difference maker.people keep thinking he is and thus isn't worth what Newcastle may be willing to accept to let him go

Poor Darwin, he's that bad he's got two clubs willing to sell him!

I buzz of this Viana geezer.

He’s either getting a shag or he isn’t. Doesn’t fuck about mithering if there’s no chance. Cracks on and moves onto the next bird.

Defo got a much higher body count than Txixi on the club night outs. Despite Txixi having the more wholesome wardrobe.

In this day in age you have to pay for potential. I'd also argue he's a better player currently than Nunes at right back even before he reaches his maximum potential.

Nunes is not a long term solution and never will be, as well as he did toward the end of last season if wer'e relying on him to help us solidify our flimsy looking backline going forward we won't get anywhere near our previous levels. He simply doesn't have the defensive instinct or brain to play there at the top top level.
Still a lot of money for potential. At that price I expect near enough the real deal. His potential is still worth more to Newcastle than to City and the money is better spent elsewhere. I don't think he is better than Nunes at all. If he was we would have signed him ahead of Newcaslte.

He was 19 and we had Walker + he had an ACL. It was definitely not the talent that wasn’t enough for him to join city. You could say that for every player. City won’t and can’t sign everyone

So you're saying we rode things out last season?

I think he's decent, but nothing special. Was left out the England squad in the recent games as the manager knew he'd not play and thought it'd be more beneficial get tournament experience with U21s. So essentially you'd be paying a fortune for England's 3/4th choice RB.
Same manager who picked Henderson above Wharton, and bought Eric Dier for Bayern Munich.
