Tino Livramento

Same manager who picked Henderson above Wharton, and bought Eric Dier for Bayern Munich.
Seeing as you mentioned Wharton, he's a very good player, but I saw a clip of a Spurs fan saying he'd want him at Spurs, but it would cost 100m get him out of palace and Carragher turned round and said anyone paying 100m for Wharton is mad. It's the same with this kid. Good player not special, could be in the future then again may not be. 80m is ridiculous.

And drop further behind? Riding things out is exactly why we are in the position we are where we've had to spend 300 million plus in 2 windows.
We aren't going to splash out £80m on Livarmento. Even £60m is too steep. The opportunity went when he moved from Southampton. Still none the wiser who we can actually bring in as Walker's replacement. Nunes with the new coaches is not the worst of suggestions for this season but as always no harm in scouting during the season for a more suitable target.

Will the player say he wants the move? If not, they can stand pat at £80M. If so, they might prefer the £60M and move on.

When all said and done, he is the trifecta* for footballers in the Prem, so I’d expect NUFC to play hardball seeing as they don’t appear to need the money!

I wouldn’t pay £80M for ANY RB in the world…but then I wouldn’t have even sniffed around at Grealish, let alone paid his £100M release clause. I still cannot fathom that deal and one day maybe Txiki will tell us the thought process behind it!

City are a “top quality £40-60M player with at least 5 yrs to play and already established he’s a player” transfer club. Being bent over to fill what appears to be the only real “hole” in the Starting XI smacks of small-time desperation during such a large rebuild.

We have MULTIPLE players who can play, and fill-in there:

Nunes
Lewis
Stones
Akanji
Reis
Khusanov

Personally, I’d like to see Nunes if we are going to attack down that wing and use a holding two at the back, or Reis/Khusanov if we are going to play a back three with Ait-Nouri pushing up on the left.

The defensive struggles we are having are not because we don’t have a young £80M right back!!

Why? Because I wouldn't pay 80m for a Livramento and you would. Thought this was an opinion based forum, not a play ground.

Get the money paid.

Or you end up spending the same amount replacing the shit signing with another shit signing!

We had the best Prem RB ever, we have to be serious.

Still a lot of money for potential. At that price I expect near enough the real deal. His potential is still worth more to Newcastle than to City and the money is better spent elsewhere. I don't think he is better than Nunes at all. If he was we would have signed him ahead of Newcaslte.
You always use that point of us not going in when they’ve moved clubs previously and it’s utter nonsense.

Wed just won a treble and had a prime Kyle Walker and a young Rico Lewis coming through so why would we have gone in for him? Walkers gone and Lewis hasn’t got a defensive bone in his body so now we NEED a right back.

Nunes is a failed midfielder now posing as a right back so I don’t know how you come to the conclusion he’s now suddenly better at playing right back than someone who’s played there all their life.
