Maybe already posted but it's not looking good for those taxes on rich people because in a few years time there probably won't be many left!
We should have a day where nobody uses this forum given data servers are one of the biggest power consumers and therefore Co2 producers. I won't hold my breath, we can all do our bit but we won't.Why conflate the two , you obviously have an agenda to massively underplay the dangers of climate change - brush it under the carpet and shout AI will kill us first.
the ‘odd fire here and there’ , really ? Increase of global temp and sea levels will have absolutely devastating impact on humanity , food production, famine, air, wild life, migration and much more within the next decades.
AI is also very much a threat to humanity and employment but let’s not pretend the concern isn’t being taken seriously by many in power globally, governmental departments will be looking into this daily as we speak. It is mentioned on the MSM a lot. Likewise, climate change.

Arnie's warned us often enough.....You missed out, overhyped, which it is.
0.5m sea level rise over 100 years, we will cope.
AI is going to cause massively more disruption and quite possibly human extinction, something climate change can never do. And yet dangers of AI get nothing like the media coverage.
At the very least, it's going to put billions of people out of work. Yes billions.
Moreover a new artificial super intelligence could conceivably kill every human much, much sooner. This is a realistic possibly in much less than 100 years, arguably 20 years. This might be a remotely unlikely possibility, or a cast iron, nailed on certainty. No-one knows.

Can you please let us know when sea levels start to rise because I've been waiting for the last 30 years and nothing has happened. Why conflate the two , you obviously have an agenda to massively underplay the dangers of climate change - brush it under the carpet and shout AI will kill us first.

4" in 32 years. Calamity. How on earth will we cope? Carrying on like this and by 2100 it could be a whole foot! The rate of annual sea level rise has more than doubled over the past 30 years, resulting in the global sea level increasing 4 inches since 1993.

Trouble is though mate, 1 is a load of overblown bollocks and the other isn't. Though your 1 month projection is overly pessimistic, it must be said.Oh no! AI going to take all our jobs and we’ll all be dead in a month !
Hilarious right
I wouldn't say that, but they're a more credible conservative party than the conservatives. In just one year they have achieved an incredible achievement. They have made the Tories look more competent.

The problem is that our governments believe we're the cause and we need to be punished. Sea levels rose 100 feet 10000 years ago, perspective! To believe we can control the climate is ridiculous.4" in 32 years. Calamity. How on earth will we cope? Carrying on like this and by 2100 it could be a whole foot!
CO2 emissions warm up the Earth's atmosphere. As a species, we have been responsible for exponential emissions of CO2 year on year since industrialisation. So, yes, we can (and do) control the climate. That's the real perspective. The problem is that our governments believe we're the cause and we need to be punished. it would not surprise me if some more mobile wealthy people are moving, given the tightening of some taxes on wealth, and the potential for more. I'm also not convinced by many of the wealth tax arguments, as rich people are not just more mobile, but they often have the power to move money quite easily, even if they themselves don't move.
However, I'd take much of this report with a pinch of salt. Nearly every article about millionaires coming and going over the last few years can be traced back to the same people who produced this, and they provide services to... wealthy people who want to move to other countries.
There was a huge glut of articles after the November budget, but most could be traced back to their research for 2023/24 - before Labour were in power. Bear in mind this is also a projection, and by the time their reports get filtered, reported, and re-reported, the actual data becomes lost. Even if this turns out wildly wrong, it wouldn't surprise me to see it reported in the media next year as "what happened in 2025".
They have produced reports which describe 5000 people leaving as being a problem (leading to exodus reports), but in other years, 5000 has been described as totally normal and expected churn. It's not even pro any particular government either, as their press releases seem to be geared more towards bringing in clients - hence why the same number of migrant millionaires can be fine when they want to push their "come to the UK" services, and a problem, when they want to push the "move to Dubai" services.
YOu should go to Khao Lak in Thailand then. We have been going there for the last 15 years or so. What used to be a continuous beach for 6-7 km is now interspersed with walls where the tide now comes during the off season. I would say the sea now encroaches at least 8m further than it did the first time we went there. Can you please let us know when sea levels start to rise because I've been waiting for the last 30 years and nothing has happened.
