PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

PB who generally has been informative down the years is wrong here I believe. If City knew for certain that there was a positive verdict of course they would want it released. If the PL know the verdict and City havent been informed that would make a complete farce of the entire process.
City will play the game like everyone else. The bigger picture and long term strategy is more important than some knee-jerk response. City may want assurances that Masters is out. We will also want to build a strong relationship with the new regulator to ensure this witch-hunt is never repeated.

I could well be wrong but people seem to have this notion that everyone at City would know what the outcome was if it had been reached. And if it was informally communicated in April, then it'll still be the same outcome in August. The delay isn't going to change that.

But it's been said before that both my source and Stefan & Ahsan's source could be telling the truth. The knowledge could be restricted to a handful of individuals on both sides, who have agreed to non-disclosure. I'd postulate that, if I'm right, the knowledge is limited to board members only and maybe only Khaldoon & Simon Cliff at City. Maybe John Macbeth as well. The Chief Marketing and Finance Officers, who are not main board members, may not know.

If we go back to 2008, there was no leak prior to the day of the announcement of the sale to ADUG. That's because they'd insisted on strict NDAs, documents that the Everton board wouldn't sign but we did, which led to ADUG withdrawing from negotiations with Kenwright.

While City may not be too keen on the PL leadership currently, I can't imagine they want the complete chaos that might ensue from a bombshell announcement and (as one journalist speculated) civil war if the PL, or some of its members, are shown to have acted in bad faith.

Based on the little I know, my understanding is that the outcome has been decided for a few months.

The PL have requested the delay in publication and my supposition is that they want the time to headhunt a new CEO, because Masters won't survive once the verdict is public.
I’m afraid this is 100% incorrect. Sorry to be blunt but it is just not true.

Perfectly possible scenario PB. Especially if the outcome was communicated in a discussion & without any notes or documents circulated at that time. Ive personal experience where major decisions have been taken and only 2 maybe 3 people on each side are in the loop. I’ve also seen those who know - when asked - flatly deny that they do !
Even if this were true, it’s also perfectly possible that we’ll never know.

Wow, that is clearly great news, im just surprised that the result hasn't been leaked by anybody? Also why would they panel agree to the PL request to delay publication, when im sure City would want the result published ASAP. Does this not show some bias ? Or is this common in legal cases?
Do the panel not just give the verdict to City and the PL, do they actually release it themselves?

If the former, they could in theory just give the verdict to City and the PL and not particularly care when it gets made public by either of the parties and have done their job

It must be proving difficult for them to find someone with the desired qualities for the role ;)
