PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

So let me get this straight.
  1. The panel made its decision in April or May and have communicated their decision to both parties at that time
  2. Very senior people at Manchester City have known the result of the hearing for the best part of 3 months but nothing has leaked.
  3. Very senior people at the Premier League have known the result of the hearing for the best part of 3 months but nothing has leaked.
  4. City have won the case.
  5. City have then agreed to wait 3 months while a new CEO is secretly being recruited for the Premier League for reason unknown and despite this case causing huge reputational damage to the club.
  6. Everyone in the recruitment process will now also know the outcome but again nothing has leaked.
  7. Every single journalist in world would sell their own children to get the scoop on the biggest story in the history of world football, which has been out in the wild for 3 months. It’s a story that could literally make a journalist’s career. But nothing has leaked.
  8. But Colin from Accounts has broke the biggest story in world football on this forum. 5 weeks ago.
  9. We know that football journalists read this forum but it’s been ignored and no one has tried to run the story.
Is this what we’re expected to believe?

If all of the above is true then I’ll personally buy PB a bottle of champagne
Joking aside, this is literally what we are being asked to believe unless we have completely misunderstood PBs post except there is probably another 50 professionals on each side also being asked to keep the secret - lawyers, accountants etc. And there is still the question as to the basis on which the PL Board do not share this material development with the shareholders (the clubs and the FA) at all. It could also be necessary to inform UEFA as part of the licensing process for the CL so they have also kept it to themselves.

Make it 2 bottles - in fact, given it would mean the most spectacular win and fiasco at the PL, I'll chip in a bloody 6 bottle crate. And you can hold me to it.

You got me. I am making it all up. The decision was in months ago and its a conspiracy of silence.

FFS indeed.
I’m not saying you’re wrong re the above.

I’m not saying PB is right either.

I’m not saying there’s a conspiracy of silence.

I’m saying there’s no way any “top top top” figure is going to tell little old you if a decision has been handed down or not.

You’re incredibly deluded if you think they would.

Mate, PBs story is the one that deserves the most scrutiny here, not SBs.

Top top top sources both have personally done so and have also openly told people I know very well and trust who have told me. That no decision has been handed down at various given points has not been a particular secret nor when told to me and people I know, been framed as confidential in itself. Which is why at various times, I have stated that I know for sure the decision was not out. This is the bit you don't get - that no decision is out is not juicy information. It is a statement of fact.

Yours Incredibly Deluded

PS honestly believe what you like. If you want to look ridiculous believing the scenario set out above, go ahead. I'm only on here wasting my time because sometimes something is so ridiculous I can't help myself. I know it is pathetic and I feel stupid for doing so but that is social media. The story is bonkers.

It might be true.

That isn't what he said but the idea that the PL go to all the trouble of a huge trial and formal serious allegations over 12 weeks with hundreds of lawyers and millions of pounds and then want to get all careful about being political is not very unlikely unless you believe that the Panel have absolutely thrown the book at City. And even then I can't see it and nor would that fit with PB's suggestion that the PL want the delay. So, in fact, this is not the way the world works.
All this is speculation. The absence of any leaks suggests that the PANEL have NOT released the result to either party. HOWEVER, there is NO WAY that Khaldoon will not have sat down with his highly paid KC for a full breakdown of how the trial went & to find out his opinion of how the evidence from both sides was presented to the panel - and how they reacted to the evidence we presented.

Other than that - the only speculation that IS true is that of Pannick’s as given privately to Khaldoon.

All IMHO of course.

Can we not just pretend, for a day, that it's been announced and all is good?

Fed up of the bollocks, just get the decision out

You are referring to the judgement i.e., justification of the outcome but City might have very good confidence on the outcome of sections of the case purely by being party to the case and knowing what was contested and what was not, and knowing what was presented and what was not.

I think @slbsn has got his forensic hat on and has posed an unanswerable question with razor sharp logic. I agree, PB has a world exclusive.

Stefan doesn't have a story, he just thinks all options are still open and some a little more likely than others. PB's info chimes more with common sense. The headhunter story was openly reported although not specifying which senior PL position was being recruited. It defies belief that the panel's ruling is not also known by the parties after a period of 8 months since the hearing was completed last year. The delay in making the outcome public is clearly for a reason and the most likely is the account given by PB. Agree that the reasons for Stefan spinning out both possibilities are also pretty clear.
