Club World Cup - Summer 2025

We were. We did exactly this to the same team — Real Madrid — in a competition that counted much more than this one. Now it's their turn. I respect what Enrique's done. I didn't think it could be done in France, where the league is so weak that it doesn't normally keep teams on their mettle.

On another note, it is such a fine thing to see Real get a good spanking. I loathe them, in fact. The rags of Europe. People are told to love them — and like obedient robots, they do. Just look at all the plastics in that stadium. Hate them!
I have sort of buried away the 4-0 drubbing we handed them because today's team iteration- for many reasons is so removed from then that it's painful for me to recall! I know that sounds dramatic and in personal life been to hell and back with hubs health since that Madrid footballing lesson handed out by us, but its like thinking of a love lost!! Footy is a great distraction and it's good to be able to admire what psg did and enjoy the shame Mardarses must be feeling. X

Troll?
Yeah ok mate.
Maybe calling you a fucking bellend was a bit too much.
Take that back.
But you saying the prize money is now the highest in club football threw up the red flags.

Just to back myself with facts.
We earnt 168.3m for finishing 3rd in the league.
Cwc winners get roughly 90m

Unless I'm mistaken it isn't the highest in club football. Even the champions league winners get roughly 95m for winning it.

Just saying. This new cwc format is just another cash cow for FIFA to cream off the top. It's been ill advised to play it at the end of the season, luckily us going out when we did MIGHT have saved another calamitous season.
No problem. A few crossed wires. Nowt wrong with different opinions and passion.

I think we do agree that there are too many competitions and games with FIFA, UEFA, EPL, FA, TV Companies, Clubs and others wanting to cash in on football at the expense of fans.

City’s average attendance in 1995-96 was 27k. The football landscape now is very different to then.

The way tickets are sold in groups or by city would help to fill grounds for the less attractive fixtures. Also a country like Finland would bring a surprising number of travelling fans with the introduction of budget airlines since 96.
Lets see shall we? City will have zero control over ticket pricing or grouping. 5000 Fins will make little impact in large capacity stadia. The prices set by Uefa will be exorbitant.

I meant by city as in metropolis, buying tickets for ‘all games in Manchester’ or ‘all games in Leeds’ rather than Manchester City which is how tickets have been sold previously by UEFA.

No. This is dross imo. Won't be long b4 those Yanky Dollar PL owners have their teams playing in the US.

And lo when it comes to pass any City away to the USA games will be sandwiched between CL games. Meanwhile when it comes to Dips and Arse etc, their US games will be followed by either an international break or a home game vs pl relegation fodder. You just can write the script now....

Wow, will City penalise us if we are playing in the US and cant attend?

Como owned by Indonesians who admit they have no real interest in football....we are so lucky with our owners.

Would have to be a Como home game as they are a diddy club and Australia is full of 2nd & 3rd generation Italians and bubble and squeaks so AEK will be next. Be Like us playing Burnley in Oslo

Fifa is also planning to learn lessons in how to deal with the heat and improve the pitches before the pan-North American World Cup in 2026, which will have most of its games in the United States.

You'd have thought that the top football authority in the world would know how to lay a pitch :)

It's the dollars under the pitch which makes a bad top surface. The more dollars the more uneven and unfair the pitch which should be a level playing field. The pitch is also compromised by the large number of troughs surrounding it which also extends into the boardrooms and high places.
