Thanks for the heads up...really smart shirt and great price but saw the picture of the back of it on the Primark website and rather spoilt it for me. Some won't mind though. On the back of the shirt it has got CITY in large letters.
Weird behaviour chucking £6.50 pints at gigs. Can never fathom what's funny or entertaining about it. Moronic behaviourSaw them last night and they were brilliant it helps the weather has been mint. Only got hit by one pint and thankfully it was beer!
Comparing New Order to Oasis is like arguing whether cheddar cheese is better than chocolate ice cream. What has New Order being better have to do with an Oasis reunion?
In what context are New Order better?
New Order are more influential, more important musically and when push comes to shove have been more important for Manchester, cultually.
As musicians, Bernard, Stephen and Hooky have a far bigger body of quality work which is original and influential. But that's including Joy Division and Electronic in that. You can say those 3 musicians don't get the credit they deserve. For me, they are the most important musicians who are associated with Manchester.
But, New Order don't have an album an good as Definitely Maybe. WTSMG is also better than any individual New Order album, imo. You might suggest Substance. But, the Oasis b-sides album is amazing, as well.
Liam is a far better front man than Bernard and Oasis are far better live. New Order do not have 2 hours worth of sing along anthems and they can't hold stadiums or festivals in the palm of their hands like Oasis do.
New Order could not fill half that field at Heaton Park. They also played Joy Division songs along with their own. In that context and setting, Oasis have been far better.
I would much rather be in that field with all my mates, having a beer and sing-along, as the sun goes down, listening to to Oasis rather than to New Order.
New Order have been the soundtrack to my life. But there are times and places where Oasis are better. Just saying New Order are better, without any context is a pointless comment and has no relevance to a thread about an Oasis reunion.

Completely different music and a pointless discussion.

Doing this next Sunday for the final night so the young lad gets a little taste of it, no under 14’s allowed in these gigs unfortunately.
Cheddar cheese any day......... ;-)Comparing New Order to Oasis is like arguing whether cheddar cheese is better than chocolate ice cream.

Bloody hell that’s a steel! I designed this one up. Wore it yesterday and had about 30 people ask me where I got it from. Could make a killing if I set up a little dodgy stall next week ha ha. I’d probably get nicked as well. I had to nip into Liverpool city centre as well and never thought about what I was wearing. Got some seriously dodgy looks. Loved it :)
Planning on doing the same
But half expecting the fun police to make this stop
The reunion is so much bigger than anyone could have expected
Number one and two in album charts
Sold out five nights (could easily be 10) in Manchester
Hottest weekend of the year and hundreds watching from the fields outside
Most importantly the band and the fans are embracing it and everyone having a great time
The amount of under 30s is crazy
Wish I had a quid for every oasis T shirt sold
People forget that’s what oasis did first time round as well
Their legacy is well and truly cemented
A few of us are going next Saturday.
For those that have been so far how mental is it to go for a few pints in town before walking up? Is everywhere hammered?
Likewise are the fun police stopping people drinking a few cans on the way up to Heaton park?
I’m imaging it’s a bit like going to Wembley…!
