I want what works, if playing Khusonov there works then who cares what his main position is.
Some of our fans are positional elitists. :)
That said, i personally don't think Khusanov at RB would work. Perhaps in spot duties against Madrid and PSG with their speedy and skillful Left wingers. But even then might not be worth the cost.
Our current style demands that our fullbacks be attacking in nature. We currently do two things.consistently well when healthy,
1.Dominate possession and 2. Develop our offense slowly.
Those 2 things almost always necessitates participation on the parts of our fullbacks on overloads the wings and actively participate in attempts to build up and breakdown a parked defense.
We are worse both offensively and defensively when our fullbacks cant fully participate in the process sur to their technical limitations.
Our attack and defense works symbiotically in that sense. When we are turgid on offense, we lose the ball more often and concede more counters, chances, and inevitably, goals. We are more turgid on offense when we don't play full backs who can participate fully in the possession and attacking phases of our play.
Khusanov sucks at those key skills. What we need to do is probably play him at CB and let him use his recovery speed and quickness to cover for the full backs on counters
