City extend their partnership with Puma to 2034/2035

Happy with the amount of money it has made for City but I'm just not a Puma fan. For every decent kit they have given us, they've given us two shite ones.
As much as I love adidas, it wouldn't be right to see City wearing it. They tend to only produce kits for teams they have a history with. City should be in Umbro kits.
Umbro can't afford us,anyway there have been quite a few more Puma kits I've liked than not.

I never knew Puma were German. I’ve learned something new today. I don’t know why, I just assumed they were an American company.
Rudolph Dassler who founded Puma was the brother of Adi Dassler and they founded Adidas together.

After a fallout between the brothers after WWII Rudolph left Adidas and founded his own company Puma in 1948

Adolph ("Adi") and Rudolf Dassler were German brothers who established a shoe factory. After a disagreement, they split up and formed two different companies. Adi Dassler founded Adidas, and Rudolf Dassler founded Puma.

I knew the adidas story and how the name came about, I had no idea one of them fucked off and created Puma.

Pretty cool story.

According to M.E.N £100m a season 10 year contract, great deal if true. I'm happy with Puma personally at least they don't just do template kits and put a bit of effort into our shirt designs.
You sure about that?

There's been precious few decent Puma kits. The Colin Bell kit worn in the treble season was beautiful. Also, that one off 125 kit was a stunner (even if it pulled threads if you sneezed while wearing it). Plenty of people ended up buying a second one, so it worked!

Yes; including me. The second one is still in the cellophane bag it came in!

Umbro technically don't exist as their own company anymore. They were bought by Nike in 2007. All those great kits we had in the late 2000's-early 2010's The Tailored By Umbro kits the reason Umbro could make those kits was because they had the Nike money behind them. However by 2012 The Umbro division of Nike still hadn't made a profit so Nike sold Umbro to The Iconix Brand Group. Nike bought Umbro for £450M and sold them 5 years later for just £225M.

Nike still held the rights for the clubs who Umbro make kits for and that's why we changed to Nike in 2013

There’s not been many tbf. Definitely a smaller minority of the kits (compared to Nike) we’ve had under Puma were templates.

We’ve been very lucky many of the away kits have been specifically designed for us, yes, there’s been the odd meh one, but there is no matter what kit manufacturer a club has.

Hard to please everyone with all 3 kits all the time. The older heads prefer the plainer shirts and the younger ones often like the brighter and more busy designs.

From my perspective, this seasons (25/26) home and away are decent, especially the away, but the third is the meh one.
