It's Quiet the £250m return

And have you any reason to suspect that the management haven't considered the above, and have plans in place to deal with the issues before the end of the window ?

City don't advertise their plans through the media in general, but still manage to do the deals they consider necessary.

Of course — and you're right to point out that we've taken this approach before. We didn’t immediately replace the likes of Aguero, Kompany, or others when they left. Instead, we waited patiently for the right opportunity, and ultimately brought in the ideal players — but it's fair to say we also benefited from a degree of good fortune during those transitional periods.

Back then, we had a core of genuinely world class player like Silva, Yaya, Aguero, Kompany and Kev - all who were operating at such a high level that they could absorb the pressure and help carry the squad through times of imbalance. Right now, we don’t have that same level of elite individual brilliance to lean on across the pitch. We have Rodri who's coming back from a near career ending injury.

Meanwhile, our rivals are spending aggressively, with clubs bringing in players valued at over £100 million and investing with clear intent to close the gap or further push away from us. The margin for error has all but vanished. This isn't a window where we can simply roll the dice and hope things fall into place. We need to be decisive and proactive, addressing the gaps before they become vulnerabilities that cost us over the course of a long, demanding season.

We did our buying for this window early, in January and June.
Marmoush, Reis, Gonzalez, Kusanov, Ait Nouri, Cherki, Reijnders, and Echeverri have all arrived and give lots of hope for now, and the future.
Reis - not ready
Khusonov - Pep seems to think he aint ready
Nico G - rarely used after the first few games - hardly got a sniff at the CWC
Ecehverri - talk of loans

Marmoush has proven quality
Alt Nouri hs proven quality
Reignders - probably proven quality

Cherki - complete unknown whether he will make it or not...he is a maverick - equal chance whether he will be brilliant or a complete flop - thats how it works with players like him.

so 3 out of 8 are absolutely ready for first team action.

HOWEVER

We desperately need one, possibly two right backs and baring in mind that neither of our new centre halves appear ready (Pep aint using them ) then we need a centre half -

We need cover for left back as well

Stones and Ake are finished...if either re in the suad we wil be moments away from losing either of them long term the moment they step on the pitch (didnt Ake get injured at the CWC for starters?)

We are absolutely in transition as we have a lot of potential but very little prove quality being brought in so far (3 players)

We need to replace...
Stones, Ake - Reis and Khusonov - does anyone really see that is replacing the quality at present?
Cover for Rodri (unless Nico G is that person)
Gundo - reignders could be as good
walker - no replacement
KDB - no replacement - even if Cherki is good he aint KDB level and will take years to get there.

Then there is the issue of the wide players - Sav and Doku - both need to take huge steps to get anywhere near Sterling, Sane and Mahrez levels for instance.

That us a huge overhaul of world class players and we aint even got close to replacing them in terms of quality

He is a free hit being HG.

No downsides to keeping him, when he plays he will be good, when he inevitably gets injured, we have the depth for it.

Edit: Talking about Stones
where exactly is the depth?

Ake also injury prone.
Dias is good but not that good.
Khusonov is good but nowhere near the level of John Stones.
Reis - has proved absolutely nothing so far...he has payed the odd minute here and there and looked nothing more than ok (and suspect at times)
Gvardiol has a lot of promise but again he is nowhere near the level of Stones as a defender at least.

Think you're going about it the wrong way.

We have goals in Haaland, Marmoush, Foden, Cherki. We need someone to get them the ball.. because that's our biggest problem offensively.. side to side with Haaland just looking bored since nothing gets to him.

Nunes and Savinho carried the majority of the assists last season.. but we have to do better there.

And I wouldn't count on Foden for assists as he still hasn't provided a 10 assist season after 8 years under Pep. Goals yes, assists no!

So creative players who can find our strikers + defensive upgrades is what we need.

""Get out of my sight, you slack-twisted, slim-looking maphrotight fool. Not encouraging I own......"

Mac Allister has already said he wants to stay at Liverpool. Even if Konate goes then Guehi will come in and if they sell Diaz then Rodrygo comes in?
In terms of CB, they have Van Dijk, Konate and Gomez ? Can't think of anyone else, if that's their only options at CB then they are a bit thin on the ground.

There's one player that I be interested in signing if we were looking for another midfielder Conor Gallagher over MGW different type of midfielder. Saying that midfield I think we need to move players on first Gundogan and Kovaic but that be a replacement for those 2. Also right back if we sign anyone great but I think Rico Lewis will come good there. The new coaching set up might benefit Rico and he will learn loads from last season. All of the right backs we had links with over the last year or 2 none has come in yet. So thinking either one of the centre backs can do a job there if need be if the others are out.

They’re never bloody injured though, especially van Dijk.

All ours are made of fucking glass apartment from Gvardiol.

We have insane depth at CB.

Too think otherwise is just factually incorrect.

Yes - it will be interesting...think we will be (with the squad as it presently is) battling out for top 4 or 5 again....
That however could change if we get some quality in depth in certain areas (mainly now defense).

and clear the players out that are now no longer viable: Stones, Ake, Grealish, McAtee, Gundo

26/27 season and then we hopefully be redy for a title challenge.....but it will tae another 12 months unless we do something very big in the next few weeks

Look Cherki, Reijnders and RAN are excellent buys. However from the January lot of players Marmoush is the sole person that Pep has utilised.
I think that’s a question to be asked of Pep. Khusanov did a brilliant job when played but then fell foul of the supposed £10m clause. Nico looks like a good option but is just taking time to bed in. Reis and Echeverri are both a bit younger and I don’t think anyone expects them to be starters now. Pep has already said he’s loyal to the lads who’ve done it for him in the past and maybe he’s being loyal to a fault. Maybe Viana needs to be the bad guy and show the likes of Gundo, Kovacic, Ake, Stones and Akanji the door. Not all 5 but a combination of the above.

Bernardo would be one to let go next summer for me even with him getting the captains armband. I can’t remember fully but was Gundo part of that leadership group?

Tell me where in the last is proven quality in depth?

Ake and Stones simply wont play enough games

Reis- hardly played so no one knows
Khusonov the same - looks good but is he world class - no
Gvardiol hasnt played a season at centre back for us.
Dias is good
Akanji - looking less able at present.

We have depth in terms of numbers but not proven quality that will be available.

I don't care about your opinion on the quality of the players, it's not the point.

We have depth at CB, end of.

Stones is a free-hit as a HG CB, so he can stay with no harm and play what little games he will likely be fit for.

I don't even understand what you want, do you want us to buy a CB? That's just ridiculous.

Sounds like a Palmer situation. Wants first team minutes. Could see Bobb asking to go on loan as well to get first team minutes

It’s not a numbers gain otherwise why not buy 11 cloggers for 12p

He deserves to be starting games (maybe not every week) after being brilliant last season.

You say a palmer situation. It’s becoming an every young player we have situation. If this happened it would be really disappointing considering how good he is and how much potential he has.

Starting to think most of our academy lads see no pathway at all into our first team
