He really isn't our best goalie ever.
he was the best goalie we could have ever had for this period in our history and our style of play at present, and a great sevant to the club

What Brazils No1 for years?Anyone imagine Liverpool getting bids of £3m for Allison who’s a year older?…
Let’s seriously hope not. Weetabix handsMaybe Ortega will start at first.
A decent number 2 playing the odd game or a run of 2 or 3. He was dire last season when he had a prolonged run. Brentford away springs to mindIt’s possible but IMO that would be a disaster. Ortega played enough games last season for us to get a much truer picture of what life would be like with him as number 1 and I don’t think many of us liked what we saw.
If Eddie does go and Trafford comes in as number 1, we will also need to go into the market for a number 2, because there is no way Ortega accepts that situation.
Absolute bollocksThe transfer business since the treble has been so bad it's starting to feel like self sabotage. Add Trafford to an ever increasing list.
I guess the relatively low fee is partly down to his contract situation, but also a goodwill gesture in recognition of his excellent service for the club. Would prefer him to stay for another year, but understand that it’s best to let him leave if he wants to go.
Unsure about Trafford as his direct replacement, if that is the case, but let’s see what happens. Still seems possible that Ortega could leave too, so a more experienced keeper could also yet come in.
True, he has been a no2 or sold, but will be remembered fondly for his brilliant 1 on 1 save from Son that was a big factor in us winning the leagueA decent number 2 playing the odd game or a run of 2 or 3. He was dire last season when he had a prolonged run. Brentford away springs to mind
I have to say, I have missed all this. Seen people here regularly mention it, so knew and out together something had gone on, but not seen the actual shit.Fuming that his last few weeks here resulted in social media psychopaths giving him a bad final impressions. These morons aren’t even proper fans of the club.
Don't think that's strictly true.More experienced keeper may well come in if they both leave but if Trafford is 35-40m then it’s with the idea that he’s number 1 next season from day 1.
I’m really sceptical about Trafford though. Don’t think he’s close to good enough to be our no. 1. Hope i’m wrong.
I wish it wasAbsolute bollocks
I'd be gutted to see Ederson leave, but it seems strange that we've allowed both him & Ortega to enter into the final year of their contracts.I'll be sorry to see one of our serial winners and no doubt a big character leave, if he goes.
His shot stopping has never been near world class level but, his thought process on the ball and passing are.
Our constant high line that Pep plays means lots and lots of one on ones which doesn't help him....not seen enough of Trafford in those situations to know if he's an improvement.
Ortega is a much better stopper than Eddie but that's where it ends.
As for distribution, it's getting harder for Eddie to make a difference as every man and dog in the world knows what he can do with the ball so teams almost never press and now actively sit back when he's got the ball.
In conclusion, with one year to go and seemingly unsettled it's probably time for him to leave.
Is Trafford the man? Is it feasible to share keeper duties with Ortega for a season to bed him in? I can remember England alternating Clemence and Shilton but, never a top class club side.
Probably Hugo Viana. He's brutal. No messing about with Kev or other's it seems.I wonder Whats happened since his interview a few weeks ago when he categorically said he was staying?
