Some wet wipes on this thread
The league is never easy to win and should not be.
People going on about dippers and tarquins strengthing, so they should as we have. The league is awash with money.
We will be up there and we have a manager who has seen it and done it all
Let battle commence
There seems to be only one giving it large. Disagree by all means but cut the abuse. You're absolutely spot on. It's going to be a hell of a fight and the wet wipe will no doubt disappear like the invisible man soon as things start going well for City. You can spot the ambulance chasers on Bluemoon. You don't notice them for years, then soon as we have a down season, they're in every thread giving it large.
If we are going to win the league this needs to change. Need to stop teams doing this to us.
Manchester City in the Premier League from 2018 to 2024 conceded an average of 2.9 expected goals from counter-attacks. However, last season, the number rose to 8.1, which was the second-worst figure in the league last season, with only relegated Leicester City having a worse figure of 8.2.

Superb post - balanced and insightful. I agree with all you say. It'll be a good race next season. Liverpool, City, Arsenal, and Chelsea all will be improved in terms of their squads. A lot of churn at City and LFC which will make both sides unpredictable. Squad depth will play a factor with all those teams playing CL and PL football. It's definitely going to help City to have title winning experience in the squad and in all areas of the pitch. Our balance of age profiles is excellent too.
Also, I can't remember the last time the team who "won" the transfer window actually won the league.
Injuries are down to many factors, including genetics of players etc. Injuries still remain largely a matter of chance — take Rodri’s injury during the match against Arsenal, for example. Things like that just happen regardless of the style of play. Generally we play "slower" than even Slot's LFC and we had several injuries last season.I think that was down to the way they played. They played with measured football unlike the helta skelter under Klopp. Nunes and Diaz are probably their weakest players but looks like they're dealing with that. Fair play to them, that midfield looks incredible and they look destined for success. Us,Arsenal and Chelsea will probably finish up the top 4.
Apparently Isak isn't coming to Liverpool. Newcastle's mad that they've bottled all transfers this season (including Trafford now) and have set a record-breaking price of 150mil pounds for him.If Liverpool sign Isac i think we can kiss goodbye to the league for a couple of years, then we might get a few players in and get rid of the oldies as that wont happen this year
No chance Ederson will be the no.1 option now. Trafford would only leave if he was to be the no.1 option and he just joined us now. Ortega is leaving which means Eddie will be no.2 choice next season. The only concern i have is the uncertainty around our best 11. We have dome obvious shoe ins but also many gaps that need pinning down.
Right back.
Right centre half.
Central attacking midfielder
Right wing
Left wing
I am assuming Eddie will still be first choice keeper.
JesusWe'll be fighting for a Europa League spot because we are not moving like a serious club anymore. Pep is becoming post-2006 Wenger: too big to sack, too stubborn to change. Our club is suffering because of that. It's clear as a day we need Costa & Livramento and yet we're thinking about signing a Championship goalkeeper and maybe a 29yo right back! We also need Gibbs-White and Rodrygo because if one of our new midfielders gets injured (which is inevitable) we have no adequate replacement + we have wingers who only score 1-3 goals per season in the PL. Compare that to Sane, Sterling, Jesus and Mahrez who all scored 8-10 goals per season in the league EACH. I just can't believe our board sees us and think we're good enough to compete with the power level of PSG & Liverpool. Even Arsenal and Chelsea look significantly stronger now and you always have Barcelona and Madrid as well.
Hehe...Ok Marvin, what’s going on.
Don't understand - why is thinking that all is not perfect 'giving up'?A lot have given up without a ball being kicked
If only, after the first title under Pep, we’d strengthened while we were on top we might even have gone on to win 6 titles in 7 yearsDippers showing how to strengthen while on top. If they get Isak then everyone else will be playing for CL. We really fucked up majorly to build on our success. Oh well, it was a helleva ride we still might pick up the odd domestic cup.
The words 'resting' and 'laurels' come to mind.If only, after the first title under Pep, we’d strengthened while we were on top we might even have gone on to win 6 titles in 7 years
So many regrets
A few are saying we will be lucky to get top 4Hehe...

Only an idiot would have walked up to the Etihad against Liverpool last season seriously thinking that we'd beat them - does that mean that everybody had given up?
Of course it doesn't.
Don’t be so easily offended at others who think your opinion is shitThe words 'resting' and 'laurels' come to mind.
Also, during those years, it's fair to say that Pep would adapt to player availablity and keep things fresh, maybe? Doubtful that he did much of that last season after the drop-off.
I wonder - for how many seasons on United supporters' forums (after their last PL title) did posts like that above continue to sneer at the more realistic rags? Do you think that they're still sneering?
Strange how people are so easily offended by others with the front to have a different opinion
Must be exhausting, being so snide, all day longA few are saying we will be lucky to get top 4
One clown said we are Europa league standard
That is giving up on a team/squad that has not started yet for me
Anyway it is all opinions.
See you at Wolves
