PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

There shouldn't be, the case has been heard and the evidence presented. Nobody from City side or the prem sides should have a channel of communication to the panel. They should be left to consider the evidence as it was on the final day of the hearing, any fact checking should have been completed as part of the process.
The way the announcement is released and managed will be subject to discussion. The fact checking of the statement involves all parties. It is totally different to a criminal trial. The Judges will of course make the decision but they will not just spring it on the PL and City.

Sledgehammer surely just to make sure

It would be interesting to see what the reactions would be whether we win or lose, both from City and rival fans. If we lose, they will obviously think we cheated which is fair enough. But if we win, would they believe the charges were actually complete bollocks or would they say we have paid them off? Similarly with our fans, if we win, then we will know we didn't cheat and take the decision. But if we lose, will our fans accept that we cheated or will we think we have been stitched up? I am very interested to see how these all pan out.

How do you know the KC's know? When Sir Wyn gave his interim report on the horizon inquiry earlier this month he was clear that he has no idea when the full report will be completed. I can't think of an enquiry or arbitration case where timelines have been provided, why is this one different?

It's not a statutory inquiry.

Also, it isn't even governed by the Arbitration Act. It's merely a disciplinary process carried out in accordance with rules agreed between the two parties.

They are not even real charges. The PL contrived to make the process as difficult as possible for City at every turn all the while giving toxic briefings to the media. They have never before done this with other clubs. The aim has been to damage City’s reputation from day one. Total bad faith.

& not one journalist asking him about the delay has pushed him….. why did you make so many charges? Who decided to do this? Why did you feel the need to compound all charges & make it 115 rather than concentrating on 2-3 which if found guilty could be revisited on other seasons.

He likes to mention there’s a rule book for clubs to follow, non of them pressed him on the fact that the rule book was illegal between 2021 to 2024. The amendments to make sure the rules were compliant with English law didn’t go far enough to do that but they still went through with a vote to bring in rules which weren’t deemed legal, even when one club told them not to vote on them.

He should have lost his job for that fiasco but is still there delivering the state of the nation address on the eve of another Premier League season. Hopefully this will be his last and will probably be driving the Post Office into the ground this time next year as their new ceo.

That's just proof of who's side the media are on.

one thing i find interesting is the thought that ...

the panel are presumably getting paid by the hour.

yet the people footing the bill have no idea how many hours they'll have to pay for.

and it could, quite conceivably, be another 3 to 6 months before it's fully written up!

i'm definitely in the wrong profession.

Lump hammer is the dogs.

I know this cos I cracked a lad who’d been bullying my mate for months with one when we were kids. **** never did it again.
maybe we should try every type of hammer just to make sure, hammer, ball peen hammer, lump hammer, sledge hammer, jack hammer, mc hammer

When we get cleared, what’s going to piss me off the most, is the media and fans of other clubs are going to be angry at the Premier League, not for bringing these bullshit charges and wasting everyone’s time, but because ‘we got away with it’.
Just ask them what we were guilty of; most haven't got a clue.

Course they have, guilty of stopping Utd and Liverpool of winning trophies. Its their right to win everything going I mean what's the point of being a glory hunter if the team you have absolutely no connection with can't win all the time. I think you'll find we're bang to rights on the above charge just the other 114 that are bollocks. :-)

Well if the PL are so confident of the clubs guilt, maybe they should have simplified the charges instead of going on the presumption that if they believe one year of accounts aren’t correct the corresponding ones afterwards aren’t either.

Obsessing over Mancini’s pay when it’s laid out in the accounts how much the club pays him. Can he also not do consultancy work at the same time? Is that illegal? Why has no one from the PL asked him for his story on the arrangement?

Then we have player image rights where the club is deemed to have sold them back to themselves. They won’t have a leg to stand on with that if they are waving through hotels and women’s football teams as ok to sell to yourself.

If the Premier League hadn’t tried to throw as much shit at the wall and make it stick, they could have been making a decent go of it with the sponsorships which were deemed fair market value by CAS. The whole delay on this thing is their own making and will be humiliating for them when it reaches its conclusion.
